Chapter 31: The Metal Forest Part 4
"Are you crazy? Look at the size of that guy! He looks like a boss from Dark Souls." I said in disbelief.
"Can you shut up for a minute so I can concentrate?" Airachnid growled at Lux as she tried to focus, maintaining her fighting stance and waiting for the Decepticon leader's first move.
"What do you want me to do? Cheer for you like a cheerleader? We're screwed here." I complained back.
Airachnid rolled her eyes and began to walk around Megatron, who just watched without showing any interest in her, but it was clear that he was waiting for the right moment to end it. So quickly Airachnid threw her webs at Megatron's face to blind him, but he was quicker and used his sword to cut the attack in half.
The arachnid assassin ran toward Megatron, firing a series of Energon blasts that were simply deflected by his own armor, seemingly unaffected by her attacks. Megatron then lunged at her with his sword, ready to break her in two, but to his surprise, Airachnid deflected the attack with her 6 arachnid legs like a shield, causing her to be pushed back a few feet by the force of the impact.
[My paws are stronger than I expected, an attack like that before would have easily sliced my paws, perfect.] Airachnid thought as she ran towards her opponent to attack in a rush, leaping into the air to attack 6 points at once, but she had no time to react as Megatron delivered a powerful punch to her stomach with his left fist. This throws her to the ground, creating a small crater on impact that causes her to spit Energon from her mouth.
Megatron calmly walked over to Airachnid and glared at her. "You're an ambush killer, not a warrior." He stomped on her, pointing his sword at her face, inches from decapitating her. Megatron continued to use his weight to crush Airachnid, causing Energon to flow from her mouth as her eyes slowly lost color.
Airachnid glared at Megatron and tried to push his foot away with the last of her strength, gritting her teeth and making a small growl. She tried so hard to survive that a small blue light emanated from her chest, mostly from the Decepticon symbol on her chest, filling her with an abnormal strength that allowed her to push Megatron away with a strong shove.
Megatron was a bit confused and shocked to be pushed, but his confusion slowly turned to absolute shock when he saw that Airachnid had a different appearance.
Airachnid's appearance now resembled Valkyrie armor, with a blood-red color and golden aspects that made her even more dangerous than she already was. The armor that covered her body still showed off her curves, but it was clear that she now looked like a different person. Her face underwent a slight transformation, giving her a battle mask that vaguely resembled Optimus Prime's, only with golden details and more feminine.
"A transformation? That won't change the outcome." Megatron was undeterred, still confident in his abilities and his armor.
"Are you sure, Megatron?" Airachnid teased, extending her spider-like paws, now longer and sharper, quite dangerous weapons at first glance, causing Megatron to reevaluate his combat posture.
The two raced toward each other in fury, Megatron turning his own axis to strike at Airachnid, but she managed to use her newly improved agility to not only dodge, but also land a few blows with her extra limbs in the Decepticon leader's blind spot, actually managing to make him feel pain.
Megatron drew back his sword and aimed his cannon, firing a series of deadly shots at Airachnid, but she moved forward, using the blades of her arachnid paws to reflect the bursts of energy with little effort.
Gritting his teeth in anger, Megatron drew his blade again, but this time he was slower, and as he was about to advance on his opponent, Airachnid threw her webs at his feet, causing him to lose his mobility and not have time to react to the blow.
Just as Airachnid was about to launch her attack, her hand transformed, and her fingers now had sharper claws with a golden hue. Unaware of what she had done, she slashed at Megatron's waist with her claws, slicing through his armor like butter, finally dealing the Decepticon leader his first significant damage.
Megatron's eyes widened at the sudden pain, but he didn't scream, not wanting to give his opponent that kind of satisfaction, so he cut through the webs that were immobilizing him and jumped back a few feet to reassess his strategy.
Airachnid looked at Megatron and then at her Energon-covered hand, the Decepticon leader's blood on her hands making her even more certain of victory. "What is it, Megatron? Are you by any chance tasting the bitter taste of defeat? How do you feel about me now? Not bad for a spider like me!"
"I simply underestimated your abilities, a mistake I have no intention of making again." Megatron puffed out his chest with pride and sighed, becoming even more focused on his battle. [[Soundwave, is Airachnid's body powered by Singular Energon?]] Megatron asked, using his radio discreetly, wanting to make sure Airachnid was actually using that power, or if it was some other unknown trick. Soundwave only emitted a small, discreet beep, confirming his suspicion."Let's see how long you can survive with the power of Singular Energon coursing through your veins." Megatron ran towards Airachnid, ready to slice her in half with his blade, now 100% focused on his battle.
Airachnid began to launch her webs in an attempt to slow the Decepticon leader's advance, but this time Megatron's egocentric behavior disappeared, now the gladiator in him took over, the warrior capable of surpassing the limits of strength of a high-level Cybertronian, someone with the potential to have been a Prime in the past. Megatron dodged the attacks with some difficulty, making no unnecessary movements, just diving into the rhythm of the battle.
Hiding her smile behind her battle mask, Airachnid ran toward her opponent for a one-on-one battle. She launched her attacks with absurd speed to avoid them, but Megatron's reflexes, his instincts, were abnormal as he threw himself into the fight, dodging the blades of Airachnid's paws just enough to avoid a fatal blow.
The battle between the two came down to speed and experience; Airachnid had superior speed, and her extra claws were an almost unbeatable asset. Megatron, however, relied on his experience in the bloodiest scenarios of the gladiatorial arenas and the War on Cybertron, as well as the abnormal strength he possessed from the moment his Spark was ignited.
The two fought for 5 minutes in a frenzied battle, with heavy blows and bloody cuts, a spectacle that left the Decepticons stunned. Megatron had several cuts in his armor, with some Energon coming out of his mouth, while Airachnid had parts of her body armor dented by each precise blow she received.
I was completely stunned by the battle, practically shocked by their ability to fight at the level they were at, a level of combat similar to the Knights of Cybertron, who were below the power of an original Prime. I won't deny that I'm worried about Airachnid, but to deny that she was strong would be disrespectful to her. She proved that in a battle of giant robots, size doesn't matter. In this aspect, Airachnid is very similar to Solus Prime, who was not very tall or heavy compared to the other original Primes, as she was apparently fragile due to her feminine body, which hid the gigantic natural strength she had to handle her artifact.
"I must admit, you've risen a bit in my estimation, Airachnid, but you lost this battle." Megatron said, pulling the blade from his arm.
"What do you mean?" Airachnid asked, offended to be underestimated after such a battle.
"You may have managed to make a few cuts on me, but you never stood a chance in a long-term battle." Megatron smiled and walked toward her, his guard down.
"You bastard! I..." Airachnid suddenly fell to the ground, her legs finally giving out from the obscene amount of blows she had received, not realizing that she had accumulated a lot of internal damage in her body. "How..."
"Your body is small and fragile compared to the other Decepticons, you have specialized in your strengths as much as possible, but now that you have received the power of the Singular Energon within you, you were naive to believe that you could defeat me in direct combat." Megatron aimed his weapon at Airachnid, causing his cannon to carry a large amount of energy, enough to blow her head off.
Airachnid tried to rise, but her battle armor slowly began to transform into her normal body, losing her offensive capabilities completely and returning only to her slender, gothic appearance. Just as Megatron was about to shoot the defeated Airachnid in the face, Lux ran toward the two combatants and stood in the middle between them, acting as a shield to protect the defeated one.
"I won't let you do this to her!" I warned, stretching out my arms and feeling a huge shudder as I saw the giant gun pointed at me."If you want to kill her, you'll have to kill me first."
"You have courage, but you are only human." Megatron deactivated his cannon, not wanting to kill the human who carried so much information. He crouched down and picked Lux up with his hand, using considerable pressure in his grip, causing Lux to grind his teeth from the pressure of being crushed like an insect. "You're more useful to me alive than dead, if you don't want her to die, you'd better cooperate." Megatron lied, he had every intention of killing Airachnid to make an example of her, even if it was a loss to the Decepticon army.
Damn, that hurts a lot, and in those moments it would be useful to have a robotic form like a Prime. I looked at this Megatron, but when I saw his eyes, I saw something I wished I hadn't seen, the image of that being shrouded in darkness. "You lunatic... you used Dark Energon?!" I accused him indignantly, feeling traces of Unicron's power within him, along with the resonance of the power of the Cataclysm fragment.
Megatron was a little surprised that a human knew he had used Dark Energon some time ago, leading him to believe his prisoner was much more than what the eyes could see. "Your name is Lux, isn't it? Know that I never forget a face, and from today you will be my slave." Megatron applied more pressure to Lux, making him feel dazed with pain.
"You can't... you can't hurt him." Airachnid groaned in pain, instinctively not wanting the Allspark to be hurt by Megatron's naivety in thinking he was a simple human or a piece of meat.
"How unusual of you, you usually only care about yourself, Airachnid. Even this fragile human caught his attention. What secrets does your human mind hide?" Megatron scowled at Airachnid and looked curiously at Lux, but his instincts warned him that someone or something was watching him. He looked up at the largest tree in the forest and noticed that some kind of metal bird was watching him with a less than friendly expression. "What is this animal doing?"
Author's note: I forgot to warn you, but I will only release the chapters during the week, Saturday and Sunday I will use them to write.
