Chapter 1304 - 1304: Coming in Pairs
Chapter 1304: Chapter 1304: Coming in Pairs
“Huh! Isn’t that Feng Yanze and Zhou Hengguang?” Xu Xiyi, who was drinking in the rest area, got attracted by the crowd, turned his head to look, and said in surprise, “Did Feng Yanze get beaten up? Who would dare to hit him?”
After speaking, he obviously glanced at Feng Yancheng, who was looking out the window.
Feng Yancheng snapped back to reality, took a distant look, and said with furrowed brows, “It wasn’t me; he was fine when I left the house this morning.”
“Could it have been Zhou Hengguang who hit him?” Xu Xiyi couldn’t help but laugh, “That would be really interesting, to fight and then to show up together like nothing happened.”
Despite his good composure, Feng Yancheng couldn’t help but scowl at those words.
“What do you mean by showing up together like nothing happened? If you don’t know how to use words correctly, then don’t use them.” Just to avoid tarnishing his brother’s reputation.
Xu Xiyi shrugged indifferently, originally wanting to wave Zhou Hengguang over, when he saw Zou Yi, who used to follow him around since they were young, walk over from where they were playing ping pong in the distance, say something in a low voice, and thus he dropped the idea.
“That’s Zou Yi, right?” Suddenly, Song Jinyan, who had not spoken until then, opened his mouth, “Didn’t he go abroad? Is he back now?”
“Right, his name is Zou Yi, the little short kid who always followed around the Zhou family’s third son, and now he’s grown so tall; he’s not short anymore,” Xu Xiyi remarked, stroking his chin, “Time sure flies fast.”
After speaking, he sighed and complained, “Jin Yan, why did you suddenly get married? You never mentioned wanting to get married before, and now you’ve sprung this on me and I’m the one suffering consequences.”
“Same here,” Feng Yancheng complained right after, “My parents were already nagging me about marriage, and at least I had you blocking it before, but now you suddenly get married, and it puts me in a tough spot with my folks. My parents use you as a golden example now, the moment marriage comes up, they mention you.”
“I have it worse,” added Xu Xiyi, “Jin Yan, you’ve set a really bad precedent for us.”
“What’s the reason for your sudden decision to get married? You never mentioned it before, and from the way you used to be, it seemed like you never considered marriage.”
“I can’t believe even a stone could sprout flowers,” he added incredulously.
“Did something upset you?”
“That’s not right! What could possibly upset you? Did it rain red from the sky or something?”
Xu Xiyi and Feng Yancheng bombarded Song Jinyan back and forth with a full arsenal of teasing and analysis – only someone with a temperament as unshakeable as Song Jinyan’s would be able to keep steady. Had it been anyone else, they would have been overwhelmed and spilled it all out, whether it was proper to say or not.
“Is it related to Professor Su?” Xu Xiyi suddenly blurted out.
The atmosphere among the three fell abruptly silent.
Song Jinyan, with furrowed brows, his gaze lingering on Zhou Hengguang, or rather, he had been observing Zhou Hengguang ever since he walked in.
“His big brother is my cousin’s live-in son-in-law,” Song Jinyan pointed at Zhou Hengguang and suddenly changed the subject.
Perfectly deflecting the original topic.
Xu Xiyi and Feng Yancheng knew the score; exchanging glances, they realized that since their friend didn’t want to talk about it, they wouldn’t push further. In truth, they both knew that their friend’s recent unusual behavior was closely related to something involving Professor Su.
But this was their friend’s personal issue, and while they wanted to help, it wasn’t their place to intervene.
“To make the Zhou family’s boss settle as a live-in son-in-law, that’s certainly no small feat,” Xu Xiyi said realistically, his words carrying weight. Thinking about how his younger brother had also been repeatedly praising the Su sisters and how he had become a spokesman for the Su family, he couldn’t help but feel a mix of laughter and tears.
