Transmigration: Lady Chi Woos The Ice cold Professor Jun

Chapter 26: [Bonus chapter]Video call

The Jun grand parents could not sit idly by while their only only grand child grew up without knowing who they were. They were desperate to introduce themselves to their grand-daughter in law by first they needed to know more about her.

This widened the scope of Wenzhe's duties. He was not just to spy on the young master Jun Muyang, he was also to spy on Chi Lian and Mei-Mei. He was to take pictures of the two every chance he got, especially of Mei-Mei.

In a way, this task made Wenzhe feel like a paparazzo, he was sneaking around and taking pictures of a child. He was terribly afraid that if he was caught, he would be deemed a pervert and beaten up.

In city A, at the Jun ancestral home, the family was gathered and holding meeting to strategize on how best to approach Chi Lian and Mei-Mei.

"Let's just offer her money." Chairman Jun, who was Jun Muyang's father said. "Her family is not equal to us in status so we can offer her money and take the child."

The old lady used her walking stick to whack him on the back softly.

"How did I give birth to a fool like you? It's your fault that Muyang will not bring that child home. He is avoiding you after what you did to him. Instead of being repentant, you are trying to alienate him more from the family. If you dare to offer money to that girl your father and I will disown you." She was furious with him.

Jun Muyang's mother ordered a maid to bring some tea for the old lady and calming incense. If she became too worked up, she could easily trigger some kind of illness.

"Calm down," mother she said as she rubbed the old lady's back.

However, she did not miss the opportunity to glare at her insensible husband for his callous words.

"Which century are we living in for you to be talking about status? The Jun family does not need to marry for status or wealth. We have both of those things already. What this family needs are children. Our population is dwindling because the children you and your brother gave birth to refuse to marry and reproduce." Grandpa Jun was shaking with anger as he said this.

He had only two sons and five grandchildren. All of the grand children were male and they were all reluctant to marry.

Jun Muyang had even declared that he had no plans to reproduce because the world was already over populated and his four cousins were enough to pass on the Jun bloodline.

Now that he had a woman and a child, grandpa Jun could finally breathe.

"How do we even know if the child is really his?" Jun Muyang's father raised the question that had crossed their minds but gone ignored.

"Look at her nose. I know what my bloodline looks like." Grandpa Jun replied arrogantly.

"Father can we at least wait to make a decision until a DNA test has been done."

"My eyes are the only DNA test I need. I know my blood when I see it." Grandpa Jun insisted. "But for the sake of the family's peace of mind, ask Wenzhe to get a sample of the child's hair and do the test."

"Yes father." Chairman Jun nodded happily. He did not believe that his son had slept with that girl or that the child was of their blood. Familiarity in looks did not automatically make a relationship possible.

As they talked about other things, Wenzhe texted and told them that Chi Lian and Mei-Mei were eating snacks in Jun Muyang's house.

"I told you that the child is his. When have you ever known Muyang to allow people into his house? Especially a child." Grandpa Jun's arrogant tone deepened. He had that same arrogant smug look Jun Muyang had when he was proven correct.

"Quickly tell Wenzhe to do the video call thing. Let us see for ourselves." The old lady instructed Jun Muyang's mother.

When the video call went though, Wenzhe who was hiding in the kitchen turned the phone towards Jun Muyang and Chi Lian who were seated opposite each other. Chi Lian was feeding Mei-Mei cookies and fruit as they talked.

Sadly, the phone was a bit too far for the to overhear the conversation.

The old couple sighed and kept their eyes on Mei-Mei.

"She has a good appetite." The old lady said happily.

"We should stock up on snacks when we meet them. They seem to love them." Jun Muyang's mother suggested.

Grandpa Jun looked at the butler who nodded to mean that it was noted.

"Why are they sitting so far apart? That child is not good at closing the deal." grandpa Jun was disappointed in Muyang's lackluster attitude. He should be taking charge.

The family was watching and enjoying avidly as if it was a movie.

Soon, they saw Mei-Mei cry and reach her hands out to Jun Muyang. The women could feel pain in their hearts as they watched. They longed to pass through the screen and go to comfort the child.

"She called him da-da, I clearly heard that." Jun Muyang's mother jumped up with joy.

"Really?" the old woman asked for assurance from her daughter-in-law.

"I told you she is ours." Grandpa Jun's hands were shaking with excitement.

"Wenzhe give Mei-Mei something else to eat." Madam Jun instructed.

After Mei-Mei stopped crying, they watched as Chi Lian moved to the couch where Jun Muyang was sitting and say something to him.

He shifted and she bent over his body slightly. At that angle, it looked like they were about to kiss.

"I like her, she is very straight forward."

"She is a seductress." Chairman Jun whispered an his wife glared at him again.

"Do you want more grandchildren or not?" she asked.

"I am supporting Chi Lian. I hope she works harder." The old lady held her fist up.

"Should we send him some nourishing tonics?" grandpa Jun asked.

"That's a good idea. It would be best if she has twins next time. Let us send very strong tonics."
