Chapter 38: First Kiss
Chi Lian wanted to laugh out loud at the ridiculousness of the situation but she did not want to appear uncouth in front of all these rich and powerful people.
"Aren't you going to talk to her?" she asked him.
Jun Muyang lifted his head and looked at Miss Chu. "What do you want?"
"Brother, I want to talk to you privately." The woman replied eagerly.
"Talk," Jun Muyang made no move to get up.
Miss Chu viciously eyed Chi Lian, "Not in front of her. She is not from our world so she will not understand what I want to say."
"She is here with me so if you cannot say what you want in front of her, then don't say anything at all." he ruthlessly told her.
"I think the wine is getting to me, I am going to the ladies room for a moment." Chi Lian excused herself and he reluctantly released her. She was not interested in this tennis match that was going nowhere.
While in the bathroom, a few women walked in and started discussing her.
"Did you see her?" One of them asked.
"Who? Another woman asked.
"That woman that is all over the internet as Jun Muyang's woman, she is not as beautiful as I thought. I am even more beautiful than her." The first one said.
"What does he see in her?" the second one asked.
"I think she seduced him. She has those big breasts after all. Men like such women. Unfortunately for her, men only like them in bed. Out of the bedroom, he will marry someone of his class like us. "
"Should I get surgery on my breasts and seduce him as well. No one knew what his type of woman was before but now that we know, we can copy and paste." The second woman said and they left the bathroom while laughing.
Chi Lian came out of the bathroom steaming with anger. She stood in front of the mirror and looked at her breasts.
"They are not that big." She said as she cupped them and measured.
"T4, who were those women?"
"Si Nanli, the daughter of the Si enterprises and actress Shu Ning."
"I want all the dirt you can dig up on them, its time they grace my page as guests. Especially that actress, I am sure she is not here to hang out. She must be hoping to find a backer."
"As you order my lady,"
When she returned to the room, she did not see Jun Muyang were she left him and she assumed that perhaps he had gone off with Miss Chu. Disappointment churned its way through her stomach and she walked away.
"Hey, sister are you looking for Professor Jun?" the beautiful daosi who she bumped into accidentally asked.
"Hey beautiful daosi, have you seen him?" she asked as she looked around the dimly lit room.
"I saw him going to the bar upstairs with Prof. Tao."
"Thank you." She waved and went in the direction he had pointed.
"Do you really love her?" she heard Tao Yichen's voice asking someone and her hands paused before opening the door.
"No." another voice replied.
Chi Lian could recognize that voice from anywhere in the world. It was Jun Muyang's voice.
"Then why are you letting the news run wild with such stories. If you don't love her, you should cut her lose before your family gets involved."
"Hmm.." he replied.
Chi Lian sagged and dragged herself to the bar. She ordered for a glass of wine and poured it down her throat.
"Add more." She told the server.
She downed that one as well.
"More." She told him.
"I think you are drinking way too much, can you handle it?" the man sitting next to her who she had ignored asked.
She looked at him and snorted.
"More." She told the server.
"Perhaps we should go and drink somewhere more private, just the two of us." The man propositioned her.
"No offense, but I don't drink with random men."
"Then I should introduce myself, I am Long Feizu, the third prince of the empire. You don't need to introduce yourself; I already know who you are."
"And you should know that she is already spoken for." An angry Jun Muyang interrupted them.
"She is drinking alone at a bar; I don't think she is spoken for. Or perhaps, she clearly doesn't know that she is spoken for." The prince arrogantly responded.
"Then let me make it clear," Jun Muyang spun Chi Lian around, lifted her head up and kissed her on the lips.
Chi Lian was angry with him so she pushed him away and went back to drinking.
The prince smiled smugly, "Looks like she doesn't want anything to do with you. Beauty, I can take you out of here." He reached out to touch Chi Lian.
All the people nearby were looking at the three of them.
"Chi Lian, how dare you ignore brother Muyang?" Miss Chu shouted.
Jun Muyang grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the club and dragged her all the way into the car while she struggled.
"Let me out." She struggled against him.
"Calm down." He forcefully held her. "I am going to let you go but before I do, you should understand that this will be the first and last time you ignore me without explaining the issue first. I am not the type of man to let others treat me like dirt."
"I heard you telling your friend that you don't love me and I understand it's not by force to love someone. But going around telling your friends that you have no feelings for me whatsoever, did you consider how that would make me look? she yelled in anguish. " I spent half the time in that bar sitting in your laps. They must be ridiculing me now."
Her pride had just taken a massive hit.
Jun Muyang loosened his hold on her and turned her around to look at him.
"I don't love you right now its true. But I do feel something for you, maybe its curiosity, or lust, or something similar to love. I don't know yet, and I cannot define it.
And I made damn sure to explain to Tao Yichen clearly that I don't love you yet but I feel something for you that I have not felt for any other woman. Why else would I allow you and your daughter come this close to me? Besides, isn't the whole point of wooing or courting someone an effort to make them interested?"
Chi Lian calmed down and her pride struggled against rationality to make sense of the situation. If she were in his shoes, what would she do if the question was asked? How would she feel? He was right; it was too soon to call their situation love, they had not even been on a date alone yet so she had no right to be angry. Rationality won over pride.
"I am sorry for the way I acted in there." She apologized meekly. By snubbing him infront of his friends, she had embarrassed him.
"I apologize for the way I kissed you back there, so I am going to do something to remedy the situation."
He leaned down and kissed her again, only this time, she was receptive. She closed her eyes and opened her mouth.
His tongue invaded her mouth, tasting like wine and spice. She had died without kissing anyone in her past life. This was her first kiss. She wondered if she was doing it right.
He run his hands up and down her arms and she shivered.
"That's better, right?" he asked in a throaty whisper after ending the kiss.
She nodded and then Jun Muyang called the driver to take them home.
