Volume 1 Chapter 116: Early Morning
When Ning Chu woke up early in the morning, her head was still a bit foggy.
Her cheeks had a slight blush as she hazily recalled scenes from her dream.
It had been a first for her to dream of being surrounded by men…
Clearly, last night’s impulses had carried over into her dreams, even though she had forced herself to suppress them.
“Oh, what am I going to do…” she muttered to herself.
She sat up, rubbing the corners of her eyes, and looked at Wen Yang, who was sleeping across from her, with their feet nearly touching.
Thinking of last night’s situation filled her with waves of embarrassment, so she quickly looked away, hurriedly climbed down from the bed, and went to the balcony to wash up.
The moment she opened the door, the cold air outside made her step back in surprise.
“Did the temperature drop?” she mumbled, and actually felt pleased at the thought; colder weather meant she could wear a jacket, which would help disguise her figure even better.
She turned back, reaching for Wen Yang’s shirt to put over herself, but then paused, deciding to grab one of his slightly worn shirts from the closet instead.
That one was already a bit dirty—she’d let Wen Yang wash it and maybe wear it again, letting it soak up a bit more of his “main character aura.”
Clad in Wen Yang’s shirt, she went to the balcony to brush her teeth, sighing all the while.
“A succubus…” she grumbled, gazing out at the gloomy sky, a sense of resignation coloring her tone. “The chances of staying pure are slipping away.”
Even though her mind resisted, her body seemed to be doing whatever it pleased.
“Maybe on the bright side, if a storyline actually gets triggered, I could handle it… my body probably wouldn’t break…”
Wait, why was that a good thing?!
With a troubled expression, she spat out the foam from her mouth.
In the doujin, the main character had battled succubi a few times—while the succubi were all very… flamboyant, their sensitivity levels were so high that they were often defeated by the main character in just one round.
Hardly any succubus could withstand a single encounter.
“Guess I’ll take it one step at a time,” she muttered.
Splashing her face with cold water helped clear her mind.
She took out her phone and opened her chat with Yan Xinya.
“I’ve arranged it! Tomorrow morning at nine, at the café off-campus, alright?”
Ning Chu had gone to bed early, so she was only seeing the message now.
A café… why did it have to be there?
She sighed at the thought of the wealthy woman who could solve all her financial woes with a glance—it gave her a headache just imagining it.
“You’re up this early?”
Startled, Ning Chu jumped, and her phone flew from her hand.
Luckily, Wen Yang was quick to react and caught it mid-air.
“Daydreaming so much that I managed to scare you?” he teased, looking at her with a gentle smile.
Still feeling flustered, she took her phone back, glanced up at him, and saw his warm gaze.
Her face turned an even brighter shade of red, and she quickly looked away, mumbling softly, “Mm… it’s nothing.”
The memory of last night kept filling her with a sense of shame, and she felt so anxious that she didn’t even know what to say.
Watching the shy girl, who now had her knees tucked together with embarrassment written all over her face, Wen Yang’s gaze softened, warming even more.
“Oh, right. Later, come with me to that café off-campus,” Ning Chu said, keeping her head down as she walked past him. “Get ready soon so we can leave early.”
“Sure.”
The idea of discussing how to control her desires with Lily in front of Wen Yang felt intensely embarrassing, but she couldn’t exactly wear Wen Yang’s shirt and use his main character aura in public either.
The best she could do was have him tag along, keeping enough distance so he wouldn’t overhear their conversation.
Wait—was she really bringing Wen Yang along to meet the succubus Lily?
What if it triggered the storyline?
What if she ended up facing a punishment… right there in the café?!
“Wen Yang.” Ning Chu turned back in a rush, too anxious to feel embarrassed anymore, leaning her head out of the dorm room to look at him. “When we get to the café, stay outside at one of the tables, alright? Don’t come in with me.”
“Huh?”
“It’s… a private matter. I’d rather you didn’t overhear.”
Wen Yang paused, then smirked and asked, “What private matter couldn’t I hear about?”
Ning Chu didn’t answer; she just turned and went back into the room.
Today’s temperature had dropped by about ten degrees due to the cold front moving south.
She rummaged through her luggage and pulled out a jacket for cooler weather.
Standing in front of the mirror, she zipped it up, then raised her head to inspect her reflection.
The loose jacket concealed her curves well, and with her already modest chest, she looked almost flat.
Turning sideways, she could just barely make out a faint curve.
Although it helped hide her shape, her small frame and youthful, pretty face still made her look undeniably like a girl.
And the truth was, she is indeed a girl now…
After more than a week, Ning Chu had grudgingly accepted her new reality.
She used to dream of finding a cute cat-girl to marry, but now her focus was just on resisting the storylines that lay ahead, hoping to keep her distance from certain… “fates.”
Her goal had shifted from trying to stay a man to just avoiding certain disasters.
Maybe, in the future… she could still find a way to live peacefully on her own.
She picked up a pair of jeans and went to the bathroom to swap out her shorts.
The warm weather had made her prefer knee-length shorts, but now, as she tugged on her jeans, she realized that the once-loose pants were now tight, especially around her thighs and hips.
It was probably the cut—these were men’s jeans, after all—and her figure had already become indistinguishable from a girl’s.
After a bit of a struggle, she finally managed to get the jeans on.
She lifted her legs experimentally, the tightness making her worry that one wrong move might rip them.
“Well, I don’t have any other pants… They’ll have to do,” she muttered, stepping out of the bathroom and calling over to Wen Yang, who was still finishing up his morning routine. “Hurry up.”
“Alright.”
Wen Yang looked over at her without thinking, his gaze drawn to her rounded backside, which the snug jeans emphasized.
Her hips and thighs, wrapped tightly in denim, created a smooth, enticing curve, with each step giving a little bounce.
But Ning Chu quickly noticed his stare, tugged her jacket down a bit, and covered half of her backside with the hem.
Rubbing his nose, Wen Yang finished up and followed her into the room.
He noticed that Ning Chu kept avoiding his gaze, her face still tinged with a blush, clearly embarrassed about last night.
He wanted to reassure her somehow, to tell her he didn’t mind, but he wasn’t quite sure how to put it.
What could he even say—”It’s fine; having urges is totally normal”?
“Let’s go.” Ning Chu kept her head down, hurrying out of the dorm. “We’ll grab breakfast at the cafeteria on the way.”
“Sure… Where exactly are we headed?”
Ning Chu usually stayed cooped up in the dorm, with no social activities apart from classes.
She explained briefly, “Going to talk with Lily. Remember to keep your distance and don’t try to flirt with her.”
“Lily?”
Wen Yang was puzzled as to why Ning Chu would meet with her.
Every time they’d run into Lily at the library, Ning Chu had acted like she’d seen a ghost, either dragging him away or watching Lily as if she were some kind of thief.
How did these two end up meeting?
