Chapter 1: 1 My wishes
I had died. Yes I know very Cliché but I had. While I was on my way to heaven waiting in line like all the other souls. At least I think that's what they were something happened. Angels with giant golden megaphones made an announcement.
"Hello to all souls a new opportunity for you has just opened up! For those of you who wish to do so you will have the opportunity to reincarnate. You will also be given three wishes. For those of you who wish to do so please focus on accepting as hard as you can. For those of you who have a hard time doing this please move to either side of the line."
The angels had finished. There was who knows how many of them that had risen above us into the cloudy blue sky. Each had a unique appearance although I had gotten the feeling that this was not what they truly looked like. Rather it seemed as though this is just what my mind comprehended them to be. Like an optical illusion that was also a costume or clothing.
Still it was easy for me I had made my decision. I would reincarnate and so willed it as hard as I could. The decision itself was easy for me after all I had no one really waiting for me up those golden stairs. My family, if you could even call them that were not good people. Luckily enough my mother had decided to put me up for adoption while she was running away from them. Although she had wanted to she couldn't stay with me for fear of them trying to claim me as one of their own.
But I digress as I had willed myself to reincarnate. There was a loud popping sound and was suddenly before three beings. They looked vaguely familiar even though I swore I had never truly met either of them. However as he continued to have at them in awe they slowly became more familiar. One looked like an elderly gentleman in a suit with a rounded hat and a cane. Another was also an older man who had a wide grin on his face, glasses, and an aura that was exciting. The third seemed near incomprehensible. He was complex light radiated from his face so I couldn't see it. His body was a neutral grey and he was covered white robes the same color as his hair. He seemed to be multitasking as he was constantly shifting his head around. Yet it also felt like he was looking right at, through, and within me. Reaching his hand through multiple portals at once only some of witch I could understand what was on the other side. He slightly shifted position in his chair and what a chair it was. The chair itself was more accurately described as a throne rather than a humble chair. In fact there was absolutely nothing humble about this being. The throne upon witch he sat was so complex and ornate ,and yet I could hardly see or understand at all. What I did know was that it was the most golden thing I had ever seen.
Suddenly a voice boomed seemingly from all directions even inside my head. Yet it was a obvious it was this third being who was speaking.
"Hello my child I'm sure you have many questions. However I am very busy today so I must make this quick. So I'll answer some of the more important ones. No you cannot chose where you will go. Yes you will remember who you are. Information on where your going will be limited. Yes you will have fun and you wouldn't get how this works in a billion years even if I explained it to you. So what are your three wishes?"
I was shocked for a moment until I suddenly wasn't "Did you just?"
" Yes I did it was to expedite this process."
Oh I looked down. Was there even a down? I tried to focus back on the matter at hand. Until another pressing question came to mind. Before I could even form the thoughts to answer it he already responded in that same resplendent voice.
"Yes I already know what your going to say but I both want and semi need you to say it out loud. Now please continue and please think carefully as these wishes do have limits."
I considered this for a moment before my mind began to wander to what I should wish for. Judging from the two men standing on either side of the more ethereal being I could already guess where I might be going. So I decided to make some wishes that I found would be in line with that.
" For my first wish I want to be a perfect hybrid of a legendary super saiyan, a kryptonian, viltrumite, a dc Martian, meta human, tamaranean, a homo magi, mutant, Amazonian, and human."
He looked up at them expecting them to veto his wish. But to his surprise they didn't say anything about it and simply continued to watch him.
"Um for my second wish I want the powers of the sentry."
Finally the man spoke up again and spoke in his ethereal voice.
"Very well however, you cannot have all that power right away, rather you will get stronger as you grow up. After all it would be a problem if a childish rampage destroyed the planet you live on."
Hearing this I nodded and understanding his point. The being continued to work tapping on celestial keypads made of stars and turning knobs and dials that looked like universes and galaxies.
I gulped and thought hard about my last wish. I needed it to be a good one and what better than a form of death prevention. So I decided if I could mix traits I had to pick the most difficult to kill characters I knew about.
"Um ahem I would like the the ability to adapt like doomsday and mahoraga."
I looked at them and was immediately struck with fear. The man had stopped working and stared at me. Directly into my soul, mind, body, and everything that made me be me. My perception of reality began to glitch like video game. Ever so breafly the light faded disappeared and everything else faded away. Surrounding me were an infinite number of eyes that stared into me with that soul piercing gaze. I was like an ant, a speck, a pathetic soul standing before its creator an infinite unknowable being of unending concepts. It felt like I was kneeling in the palm of his hand. I knew from from I don't know what maybe it was instinct or experience or something else who knows probably this being before me. It was truly the most chilling experience I had ever imagined. I was all but ready to erase myself from existence or whatever. It? Him? They? Them? Me? The great I am? The greatest I am? Yeah that seemed about the greatest grandest the one the true the only real thing that exists. Whatever he wanted I would do. When suddenly I snapped back for even just a moment less that my own eyes. Did I have eyes? I didn't know but I did know that breafly I fought back and was instantly filled with regret. I was a tarrible creature a failure of a creation. How could I fight back? How could I have the gall to even exist? I should just die! Just stop! Stop existing forever and ever!
All hope seemed lost if it even existed in the first place. Wait what? I was still thinking, still existing how foolish of me! There should be no I! No me! But why? Why then did he still resist? Still remain? Still fight? Still have a will of his own? But then just when he was about to slip away the feeling the experience stopped suddenly. The man the ethereal being the creator, his creator, his Heavenly Father was still there. On his shoulders on either side were the hands of the other two beings.
The man on his right the one with the smile and the weird comic book outfit began to speak. His voice sounded familiar and joyfull.
"Now now go easy on the kid ok?"
God responded "Ah yes my apologies young one I appear to have accidentally glanced at you directly."
He turned to look back at his panels. I stared at them what I just experienced it was more traumatizing than anything else I've ever imagined. I looked back at the smiling old man.
"I-Uh t-thank you."
"No problem kid." The man responded. I was starting to remember his name. It started with an S I think I still can't quite remember. Then god spoke again.
"As an apology I'll hand pick a mutant and meta ability for you. Well it'll still be random but it will chose from a list of sorts. They will be nice I promise you'll enjoy them. No refunds though just so you know not that you'll want one."
Nodding his head he looked back at the two other beings. He looked at the one with the hat.
"Also thank you as well I'm sorry I didn't say it earlier."
The man with that who had sent yet said a word and whose face had been stoic the whole time curved into a kind smile. The two beings stepped forward.
"Now you should be on you way young soul." God said. He balled up his hand and released a small black ball from his hand tha slowly grew. It floated in front of me and grew some more. And then it became clear it wasn't a ball but a black hole. The two beings stepped forward and pointed at it and in the middle it became glowing white. With no hesitation I walked through saying.
"Thank you Mr Stan Lee, Mr Presence, and God thank you all! Excelsior!" I shouted and ran through towards my new life. From there my vision went black and I fell into the void.
Heaven 3rd person POV
"That soul he was unique not only did he withstand my gaze when looking directly in my eyes. But he even managed to fight back even if it was for the briefest moment. And on top that he even managed to awaken something."
" What a kid! Welp let's get on to the next one." Stan said whilst clapping his hands.
"Indeed he will do well I hope. Perhaps he may even become like us one day. Although that is unlikely." Said the Pressence who had been silent up to this point.
"Well we can only hope. Still we have more work to I'll bring out the next soul." God said before gesturing with his hand. With a loud pop another soul arrived.
