What the hell is making games in the Ninja World?

Chapter 16: Chapter 11 : Wicked Eye Fugaku!!

The process of finding members of the Uchiha clan to play the game wasn't smooth. The Uchihas that Uchiha Kai found had no interest in his game. Some even openly mocked him or showed blatant disdain.

It wasn't that Uchiha Kai was so disliked that everyone hated him. In fact, if he really tried, there were plenty of Uchihas who would be willing to play the game Kai had created.

The problem was that the Uchihas he found were just regular members of the clan, and Uchiha Kai had specifically sought out the more powerful Uchihas—those who had awakened the Three Tomoe Sharingan.

As everyone knows, the Uchihas are proud. One of the key features of their clan is that they respect strength, following the classic "might makes right" mentality, though not as extreme as the brutal survival-of-the-fittest found in traditional fantasy novels.

For someone like Uchiha Kai, who was seen as a lower-ranking member of the clan, when facing those who had unlocked the Three Tomoe Sharingan, he could only accept being looked down upon.

Though these older Uchihas wouldn't outright bully Kai, for him to approach them and claim he had developed a unique Genjutsu game—one where the players needed to completely abandon any resistance and let the opponent's Sharingan cast a Genjutsu to start the game—was asking for trouble.

Honestly, if Kai wasn't an Uchiha himself, he probably would've been beaten up by now.

You want to use Genjutsu on a powerful Uchiha and tell them not to resist so you can play your game?

Come on! Go back to sleep if you haven't woken up yet, thank you!

Or are you trying to insult the proud Uchihas to the extreme?

Moreover, the powerful Uchihas are the clan's key members, heavily trained and assigned daily missions. Even during their free time, they have their own social circles.

For someone like Uchiha Kai, who wasn't well-liked within the clan, to suddenly make such unreasonable requests would only be met with cold shoulders from any of the powerful Uchihas.

Thus, his plan to find strong Uchihas to play the game and collect enough emotional energy to complete the task had failed.

However, Uchiha Kai wasn't surprised by this outcome. After all, he had been reborn for eighteen years and knew exactly what kind of people the Uchihas were.

Finding a group of powerful Uchihas was just an attempt to see if anyone might be in a good mood and have time to spare.

Since that failed, it was time to go ahead with the backup plan.

After finishing all of his tasks for the day, Uchiha Kai immediately took leave from the Konoha Police Force and left the premises.

The process went smoothly. His supervisor didn't mind Uchiha Kai taking time off, especially since he had already completed his work.

In fact, if it weren't for the strict regulations requiring him to be at the Konoha Police Force every day, Uchiha Kai could technically head home early every time he finished his duties.

To his supervisor, the work Uchiha Kai was tasked with was little more than a humiliation imposed by the Uchiha clan, a way to sideline him.

Any typical Uchiha would have found it unbearable. The fact that Uchiha Kai could quietly finish his tasks every day was already an impressive feat in their eyes.

It all boiled down to differing values and perspectives.

What some might call a cushy job that allowed him to slack off was viewed by the Uchiha clan as an insult. Their relentless pursuit of excellence and progress was evident.

After leaving the Konoha Police Force, Uchiha Kai headed straight to the Uchiha clan's territory. It didn't take long for him to find the person he was looking for.

It was another member of the Uchiha clan, but not an ordinary one. This was Uchiha Fugaku, the future head of the Uchiha clan.

While he appeared to be a hardliner within the clan, he was, in truth, someone who leaned toward compromise.

In the end, he would become infamous for his lack of resistance to the slaughter of the Uchiha clan by his own son.

Of course, the Uchiha Fugaku of today was far from the man he would become.

At 28, the young Uchiha heir was brimming with sharpness and vigor, already making a name for himself in the shinobi world under the title "Wicked Eye Fugaku."

As a fellow Uchiha, Fugaku was a prime example of the shinobi world's obsession with bloodlines.

As the heir with the purest lineage, his Three Tomoe Sharingan was noticeably stronger than those of other Uchihas. This gave him considerable prestige within the clan, particularly among the younger generation, who largely followed his lead.

Moreover, as the clan's future leader, Fugaku displayed emotional intelligence that was uncharacteristic for most Uchihas. He treated everyone within the clan—regardless of their status—with equal respect.

His attitude left others feeling as though they were basking in the warmth of spring, even those at the bottom of the hierarchy.

It was this demeanor that allowed Uchiha Kai, a transmigrator, to establish a good relationship with Fugaku.

Additionally, Uchiha Fugaku and Namikaze Minato had a good relationship—they were friends in private.

As Minato's close confidant, Uchiha Fugaku was one of the few members of the Uchiha clan who maintained friendly ties with Uchiha Kai, despite his Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

This time, Uchiha Kai sought out Fugaku because he found it difficult to directly promote his new game within the clan. To solve this issue, he decided to take an indirect approach and enlist Fugaku's help to spread the word.

Of course, Fugaku was also an excellent provider of emotional support, which Kai did not want to miss out on. At 28 years old, Fugaku possessed the strength of an elite jōnin. While his prowess wasn't quite on par with Minato's, the emotional value he could provide was definitely comparable.

When Uchiha Kai found Fugaku, the 28-year-old clan heir was practicing taijutsu in the clan's private indoor training grounds.

This training ground was exclusive to the clan head and not open for public use. As the clan heir, Fugaku naturally had the right to use it. While he was entitled to have attendants by his side, Fugaku preferred to train alone and often sent others away during his sessions.

When Kai arrived, he saw Fugaku training diligently, sweat pouring from his brow.

Noticing Kai's presence, Fugaku stopped his training and curiously approached him. "Kai, what brings you here at this time? Is there something you need?"

Kai smiled immediately and said, "Fugaku-san, you know how much I excel in creative thinking and ideas. Over the past two years, I've been exploring ways to develop genjutsu using my Sharingan. Recently, I made some progress and even created a unique Sharingan-based secret jutsu."

"I call it 'Illusion Game.' It's a jutsu that immerses people in a vivid and realistic Genjutsu world."

Fugaku nodded in acknowledgment. He was well aware of Kai's capabilities—after all, Minato's Rasengan was a result of Kai's ideas. Fugaku had complete faith in Kai's ability to innovate when it came to jutsu.

The only pity, Fugaku thought, was that Kai's potential as a ninja was otherwise quite limited. If not for this, Kai could have become a figure akin to Tobirama Senju within the Uchiha clan.

Yes, it wasn't just Minato who viewed Kai through this filter of "false genius"—Fugaku did as well.

Thus, Fugaku wasn't at all surprised by Kai's claim of creating a secret technique. Instead, he grew more curious. "So, what's the purpose of this jutsu?"

Kai smirked. "Well... you'll understand once you try it, Fugaku-san. I can tell you this much: Minato tried it this morning and was very impressed. He said he gained a lot from the experience. In fact, if he didn't have other obligations this afternoon, he would've stayed immersed in the Illusion Game."

Uchiha Kai decided to play his trump card: Namikaze Minato. He was confident that Fugaku would find it impossible to resist such an enticing offer.

Sure enough, Uchiha Fugaku's eyes lit up as soon as he heard the proposal. Rubbing his chin thoughtfully, he mused, "A genjutsu even Minato finds impressive? And he wanted to keep playing inside it? Sounds like the kind of thing that could make one lose their focus."

"But still, if it's something that even Minato couldn't get enough of, it must be far from something ordinary."

At this point, Fugaku's curiosity was piqued, and he asked, "So, are you suggesting that I should also try out this so-called genjutsu game of yours?"

Kai nodded with a smile, finally revealing his true intentions. "Not only that, but after experiencing it, I'd like you, as the clan head's successor, to help spread the word. Encourage more Uchiha to give it a try."

After a brief pause, Kai's mind wandered to Minato's reactions during the game—his moments of fear, the adrenaline rush, and finally, the state of sheer exhilaration from battle.

Smirking slightly, he added, "Perhaps it might even help awaken the Sharingan for clan members who haven't awakened it yet. For those who have, it could strengthen their dojutsu—like evolving from a single tomoe to two, or from two tomoe to three."

Hearing this, Fugaku's expression turned sharp, and his eyes gleamed with an intense light, exuding a presence that was nothing short of intimidating.

This was the kind of piercing gaze that could make one's blood run cold—a trademark of a true Uchiha leader.
