You’re Supposed To Be The Villain, But You Effortlessly Win Over The Female Leads?

Chapter 15:

Chapter 15:

Jiang Feng didn’t move. He could easily guess who was at the door.

The doorbell kept ringing persistently.

“Why are you just standing there, son?” Song Lin asked, seeing Jiang Feng unmoving. Left with no choice, she headed toward the door.

“Mom.” Jiang Feng suddenly stopped her.

She paused, turning to look at him. “What is it, son?” The light above cast shadows on Jiang Feng’s face, making his expression hard to read.

“About the divorce—you’re not having second thoughts, are you? I’ve already found a lawyer for you. We need to make sure we recover all the property from the divorce. You should go to the bank tomorrow to check on the mortgage payments you’ve made.”

Despite the warm light, Jiang Feng seemed surrounded by a cold, tense aura. His eyes were dark, filled with suppressed anger.

“He’s been giving money to other people. We shouldn’t be the ones paying for his decisions!” Jiang Feng’s voice was steady, but filled with resentment.

Song Lin was taken aback. She could see the simmering rage in her son’s eyes, and it shocked her. This wasn’t the same son she remembered.

In her memory, Jiang Feng was always cheerful, his face full of sunshine, his entire being filled with happiness. But somewhere along the way, something had changed.

He hadn’t smiled in a long time. He had become more sensitive, prone to sudden bursts of anger—like a wounded hedgehog, always ready to lash out at others, hurting himself in the process.

But only Song Lin knew the reason behind it all. Jiang Feng had stopped studying, purposely failed exams, and even dyed his hair—all in a desperate attempt to get his father’s attention. Song Lin felt an overwhelming sense of sadness for her son.

She had always been there for him, but she knew a mother’s attention could only go so far. He needed his father, and for years, she endured the pain for Jiang Feng’s sake. His only wish was that his father would take notice of him, even if it was just to cook him a simple bowl of noodles.

But for years, Jiang Jiandang had always chosen to spend time with other people’s children. Jiang Feng had been a bright student, excelling at school, but he didn’t ask for much—just a little acknowledgment.

Now, however, as Song Lin gazed into Jiang Feng’s eyes, she realized something clearly: he no longer needed his father.

“Mom won’t change her mind,” Song Lin said softly, her voice cracking as she hugged her son tightly. “Don’t worry, son. You’ve always been number one in my heart. If you want to recover the money and go through with the lawsuit, I’ll follow your lead.”

Jiang Feng nodded in satisfaction. “Good.”

Outside the door, Jiang Jiandang paced anxiously. He had come all this way himself—what more did this woman want from him?

He straightened his clothes nervously, then knocked on the door once more.

“Song Lin, open the door! It’s me, Jiang Jiandang!”

Still no response. He could hear footsteps inside but no one seemed interested in letting him in. This made him even more upset.

He had come all the way here! What else did she expect from him?

Just as he was about to lose his patience and knock again, the door finally creaked open.

“What do you want?” Song Lin asked, her face calm and gentle. She wore a simple apron, her hair tied back in a neat ponytail. Her clothes were clean, and despite everything, her complexion seemed better than before. For a brief moment, a strange feeling stirred in Jiang Jiandang’s heart. Maybe… remarrying wasn’t such a bad idea.

“This place is so small,” he said, coughing awkwardly. “Come on, stop being mad. I’ve come to take you home.”

He puffed up his chest as though offering her a great favor. “We’ve been married for so long—what’s this talk of divorce? Half our lives are already over, and now you’re going to act like a child?”

Act like a child?

Song Lin was stunned for a moment, then laughed bitterly. “The only reason I didn’t leave you sooner is because of my son. If it weren’t for him, I would’ve divorced you years ago. Don’t bother coming here anymore. I’ve already found a lawyer for the divorce.”

With that, she moved to shut the door.

“Wait!” Jiang Jiandang quickly blocked the door with his hand, forcing his way inside.

Once inside, he was taken aback.

The house was small but cozy. The dining table was covered with a floral tablecloth, and the smell of delicious food filled the air. The kitchen was spotless, and everything was neatly arranged. Despite the modest size of the place, it felt warm and full of life.

Suddenly, a pang of regret hit him.

“Linlin,” he said softly, his tone changing. “Let’s not go through with the divorce. If you don’t like me supporting He Minglang’s family, I’ll be more careful in the future.”

He had never lowered himself to apologize to Song Lin before, so this was humiliating for him. But he hoped it would be enough.

Song Lin: ???

Jiang Feng: ???

What was wrong with this man? Where did he get the confidence to think this would work?

“What are you still standing there for?” Jiang Jiandang demanded as he walked over to the dining table, looking completely comfortable. “Serve me some food. I’m hungry.”

He sat down confidently, as though he’d made a great sacrifice by agreeing to her conditions. “I’ve agreed to everything you asked for. You should be satisfied, right? I don’t care that you moved out for a while. Let’s just move on and live a good life together. From now on, 20% of my salary will go to you, and the rest will be for supporting Mingming. After all, they’re just kids… so pitiful.”
