Chapter 107: Wanda In Black Silk Stockings, Ch 47.1
Wanda suddenly mentioned the battle suit simply because she needed to clean it. After all, it was a personal item, and it wouldn't be appropriate to have the maid deal with it.
"What? Are you actually thinking about it?"
Hode hadn't anticipated that Wanda would bring this up, especially after he had taken the suit back for Gwen.
"No, no, no..." Wanda shook her head repeatedly. She could barely stand up, so how could she be thinking about that? She had to admit, though, that transforming into Spider-Gwen was quite fun.
"As for that battle suit, I've already thrown it away. If you like, I can buy another one." Hode grinned mischievously.
"Who... who likes it?"
Wanda squirmed in Hode's embrace, but the more she struggled, the more the gun at his waist seemed to be in disarray.
"If you didn't like it, how come you remembered it so clearly?" Hode looked at Wanda with an unsettled gaze.
Wanda jumped up in fright, "Clearly, you like it! Didn't you use me as a Ghost Spider yesterday?!"
Because of that suit, Hode's combat ability had nearly doubled the day before. He had almost considered dismantling her.
"Impossible! You're slandering me! Utterly unfounded slander!"
Hode would never admit it; after all, the pressure of having Gwen downstairs was quite stimulating.
"Hmph..." Wanda huffed lightly, her delicate fingers gently pushing against Hode's head. "You seemed really happy last night. You definitely enjoyed it!"
"What do you think?"
Hode wore a half-smile on his face.
"If you keep this up, I swear I won't talk to you anymore!"
Wanda sat on the chair, displeased. After all, it hadn't been too bad a couple of times, but if he kept treating her as a mere replacement for Ghost Spider, then what had she turned into?
"Alright, alright!"
Hode reassured her, "I promise I won't make you feel this way again."
"I'll forgive you this time."
Wanda softened a bit, seeing his serious attitude in admitting his mistake.
"However, you really need to practice your chaos magic properly."
Hode rubbed Wanda's head affectionately. The dangers of chaos magic were too significant; without diligent practice, it could one day spiral out of control. Despite having improved her control, it was still far from enough. Wanda's true power could significantly impact the surrounding reality, so he took it seriously.
"Should I follow your lead?"
In fact, when Wanda wasn't with Hode lately, she had been trying to contact Agatha. However, her progress was minimal, and achieving smoother reality-altering effects was exceptionally challenging. She couldn't replicate what Hode had shown her during their training sessions. Changing simple objects was already quite taxing.
"No, just follow the instructions in this book."
Hode shook his head and pulled out a leather-bound book seemingly from thin air.
Wanda's eyes widened in surprise. "How did you do that?"
She hadn't sensed any magical fluctuations just now; it was as if the leather book had always been in Hode's hands.
"Secret."
Hode grinned and said, "This is the kind of knowledge you need to learn."
"What is this? What's written on it?"
Wanda studied the contents of the leather book, but she couldn't understand the words at all. They seemed like they belonged to another world.
"This is the 'Darkhold.' It aligns perfectly with the chaos magic within you!"
Just yesterday, he had obtained the complete Darkhold. The content within it far surpassed what was found in the Dark Scriptures.
The Dark Tome is a transcribed copy, and it lacks a significant portion of dark spells and necromancy.
As a result, the actual gap between the two is quite large; otherwise, the Darkhold wouldn't have attracted so much attention from dark sorcerers. After all, to them, it is a supreme artifact, and obtaining it is akin to acquiring the source of dark magic.
