Chapter 20: What do you think is her plan?
Utahime lay on her couch, staring up at the ceiling, her mind racing. The dim light from the window filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room and gently touching her face. She squinted slightly, the light reflecting in her tired eyes as she sighed deeply.
"He managed to run away from my question with just one kiss," she muttered to herself, her voice low and filled with irritation. The room felt suffocatingly quiet, the stillness amplifying the frustration swirling in her chest.
She had her mind racing with questions. Then, suddenly, a thought struck her, wide and sharp, like a lightbulb flicking on in the dark. Her eyes widened in realization.
"What if I..." She stopped mid-sentence, her gaze locking onto the bottle of birth control pills on the table. Her heart raced as the weight of the thought sank in.
Utahime sat up slowly, her movements deliberate as her eyes locked onto the bottle of birth control pills on the table. Her hand reached out.
Why didn't I think of this earlier? she thought, her heart pounding, Before their wedding?
The question echoed in her mind, sharp and bitter. She squeezed the bottle tight, as if trying to crush the weight of the missed opportunity. The plastic creaked under her grip, but it did nothing to release the tension building in her chest.
Just as she tightened her grip on the bottle, her phone suddenly rang. Utahime jumped slightly, startled by the sudden interruption. Her eyes flicked down to the screen, and she let out a soft sigh when she saw the name flashing there.
"It's the fatty," she muttered under her breath, her voice laced with annoyance.
Utahime grabbed her phone, a warm smile formed on her face, and answered the call. "Hello, Todo," she said, her voice soft and friendly, though there was still an edge of irritation lingering beneath the surface.
There was a brief pause as Todo spoke on the other end. Utahime listened, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. "Hm? Introduce someone to me? Who?" she asked, her tone casual, but a hint of surprise in her voice.
Another pause, and she nodded slowly, her expression softening. "A new friend, huh?" she repeated, her smile growing a little more genuine. "Alright. I'll be on my way."
She ended the call with a swift tap of her finger, setting the phone down beside her. With a deep breath, she stood up and walked toward the kitchen with the birth control pills.
Utahime opened the trashbin and took one final look at the birth control pill bottle, "my plan must succeed. I'll get pregnant," she muttered to herself, her voice determined.
With that, she tossed the bottle into the trash and closed the lid.
Utahime arrived at Todo's place and he welcomed her with a warm smile. "Come on in, our Queen," he said, leading her to the living room.
"Hello, everyone," she greeted, looking around.
Her eyes landed on a boy with white hair and bangs, and she couldn't help but blush slightly. Her eyes widened just a little as she saw the guy.
Todo noticed Utahime's flushed face, a sly grin spreading across his own. He looked at the guy and said, "Right. She's into guys with white hair."
Utahime's eyes widened as her face turned beet-red. Embarrassment radiated from her very pores.
She lunged at Todo, grasping his ear with a vice-like grip. "KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT, YOU IDIOT!" she shouted, her voice echoing. "OR I'LL SEW IT SHUT FOR YOU!"
She was adorable when she got angry.
Todo winced, laughing, as Utahime's grip intensified. "And I forgot to mention she's loud." he quipped, ducking slightly to alleviate the ear-pulling pain.
The white-haired guy chuckled, nodding approvingly, and giving a thumbs-up. "Thanks for the warning!" he said with a grin.
Her grip on Todo's ear loosened. Her heart skipped a beat, racing wildly. She turned to the guy, her eyes wide with wonder, transfixed by his enchanting voice.
Oh my goodness, his voice is ridiculously soft and handsome. It's like melted honey, warm and soothing. I've never heard any sound so captivating. How can someone sound this divine?
Maki's face flushed as she watched Utahime swoon over the guy, her expression soft and adoring. It was ridiculous.
"Already in love with him?" Maki muttered, turning away to hide the cringed look on her face.
The thought alone made her stomach churn. It was... disgusting to her. But no matter how much she tried to ignore it, the heat in her cheeks wouldn't fade either.
Maki glanced back at Utahime, a smirk on her face. "Don't worry. He's a nerd."
The guy shot her a side-eye. Nerd, huh? I could be one, but no one knows how intense I could get in bed.
Maki's eyes narrowed, completely oblivious to his thoughts as she crossed her arms, still not impressed.
Utahime's face stayed flushed as she glanced away, a sheepish smile creeping onto her face. "I... I guess I like nerds too then," she admitted softly.
The guy smirked. She's the one for me.
Across the room, Todo and Maki's eyes widened in cringed disbelief. They leaned toward each other, whispering under their breath.
"Didn't expect them to fall in love this fast…" Todo muttered, still in shock.
Maki nodded, her face scrunching in distaste. "Yeah, this is... gross."
