Black Clover: The Spirit Angel Magic Knight

As the magic knight squad captains began to sit down, Sekke Bronzaza began to introduce them to Asta.

Nozel sat down first.

Nozel Silva is a slender male with fair skin, narrow purple eyes, and small eyebrows. He has pale, silver-white hair, that is styled long and straight at the lower back, the top and upper side portions of his hair are heavily styled and swept back into a long spiky fringe. His long bangs are styled into a braid that hangs between his eyes and down to the tip of the nose, where a small House Silva pendant is attached.

Nozel wears a loose fitting shirt with a high collar that is kept closed at the top by a gold band but is left open below to expose his collarbone. He also wears loose pants, with tight bands just below the knee, and flimsy sandals. In addition, Nozel wears the typical robe of his order, the Silver Eagles.

This robe consists of a short, fur mantle with longer, frilled panels that hang down to the elbow. Like other squads, their squad insignia is placed on the left side of their robes. Nozel's mantle also has an attached robe that is long enough to reach nearly to his feet. His grimoire case is positioned on his left hip.

Sekke: "That's Nozel Silva, the Captain of the Silver Eagles."

Yuno: "One of them."

Asta: "A real Magic Knight squad captain. Interesting hairstyle! How does he see with that thing in his face?"

As another person sat down, Sekke continued to introduce them.

Sekke: "Fuegoleon Vermillion, captain of the Crimson Lions. As his name suggests, he's a Flame Creation Magic user."

Fuegoleon is a tall man with purple eyes and long, straight vermillion hair. His hair is neatly combed to the back while leaving his long fringe combed to the left in a wavy hairstyle. One of his notable features is the red markings around his eyes. Another one is a diamond-shaped mark of similar color on the center of his forehead. Additionally, he also wears a pair of red earrings. 

Fuegoleon's attire consists of a white tunic which is covered by a dark blue shirt with long sleeves and high collar. The shirt is decorated with gold-colored fabric with vertical stripes design on its edges, collars, and along the sleeves. In order to keep the shirt together, he wears a purple sash around his waist. Moreover, he wears white trousers and black high boots with similar design as his shirt. On top of his attire, he wears a long red cape.

As a member of the Crimson Lion squad, Fuegoleon wears the squad's signature robe that only covers his torso. His squad robe has similar color as his personal robe. The robe has gold intricate designs at the lower front edge and complemented with a scarf of similar red color. Additionally, a pair of gold-colored ropes are protruding from between the scarf and the robe at the front and a purple stone is decorating each end. Lastly, the squad's insignia is located at the center back of the robe.

Asta: "Wow."

Another person has taken a seat, with Sekke continuing to introduce them.

Sekke: "Jack the Ripper, captain of the Green Praying Mantises."

Jack is a tall, lean man with gold eyes and loose, medium-length black hair. On the left side of his face, he has a thin, red scar (or birthmark) running from his forehead down to his chin, passing over his left eye and ends at the left side of his mouth. He possesses very sharp facial features, such as sharp eyes and a slit-like mouth.

Jack wears a light green shirt that only covers the upper half of his torso, leaving his abs uncovered. He wears form-fitting black pants, with green portions (the same green color as his shirt) that cover from the halfway point of his shin up to the halfway point of his thigh on both legs. He wears shoes with the same green color as his shirt. Jack wears two small wristbands on each wrist, and two straps on his waist that cross together to form an x on his front, which carries the pouch that his grimoire is in. He wears his Green Mantis robe on top of everything, which has four long leather strands that drape down.

Asta: "Wait. What's a praying mantis?"

Sekke: "That long, thin, green bug. Captain Jack can rend the very earth in two with his Severing Magic."

Asta: "Whoa! That's awesome!"

Sekke: ""Praying Mantises," though, seriously? Who wants to be named for a bug?"

Another person takes a seat.

Sekke: "Next we have Ms. Charlotte Roselei, captain of the Blue Rose Knights. Just look! She's so beautiful."

Charlotte is a tall woman with upper-back length blonde hair that is braided as she usually keeps her hair tied back into a bun with only a single lone braid hanging down on the left side of her face while she has bangs swept to the left side, light blue eyes with visible long eyelashes and full pink lips. Her beauty is renowned throughout the Clover Kingdom and she is rated as the most beautiful woman—when not wearing her helmet.

Charlotte's attire is a set of armor. She wears a fancy decorated helmet that has a single fin protruding from the top, resembling a shark fin. For her top, she wears a black one piece undershirt, which extends out to her hands and act as sleeveless gloves. On top of that, she wears a decorated armored breastplate, an armored collar plate, as well as gauntlets on her arms. For her bottom, she wears a short blue skirt, which is visible underneath a longer leather-like skirt that is open on the front. Her white trousers are tucked into her thigh-high black socks, which have leather cuffs at the ends. She wears shin armor as well as armored boots. Her grimoire is stored inside a brown leather pouch that is attached to a strap on her waist on her right side. She finishes off her look with a long, flowing blue cape that reaches down to her ankles, along with the Blue Rose robe, secured at the center of her chest with a buckle that shows their squad's insignia.

Asta: "Eh, she's got nothin' on Sister Lily."

A big man takes a seat, with Sekke introducing him.

Sekke: "Gueldre Poizot, captain of the Purple Orcas."

Gueldre is a tall and obese man.

Asta: "That's all ya got?"

Sekke: "The shabbier ones don't interest me."

At this time, Dorothy takes a seat, with Sekke introducing her.

Sekke: "Dorothy Unsworth, captain of the Coral Peacocks. It seems that she is awake today."

Asta: "What do you mean she's awake today?"

Sekke: "She usually doesn't do anything but sleep."

Asta: "How'd she become a squad captain, then?"

Sekke: "She must have some incredible power that's invisible to the eye."

Sekke then began to introduce another captain.

Sekke: "Rill Boismortier, captain of the Aqua Deer."

Rill is a young man with spiky, aqua-colored hair in a messy mound atop his head.

He wears a light-colored shirt under a dark blue vest that is held closed by a bronze-colored belt. His dark blue pants end halfway down his shins, and his shoes are bronze-colored slippers. Over this, he wears a long, white open coat with two pairs of large, turquoise diamonds on the front and on the sleeves. His squad robe has a dark blue tassel of diamonds hanging from the front clasp.

Asta: "Isn't he kind of young?"

Sekke: "A bit. Captain Rill is 19 years old."

Asta: "Nineteen, really? Just four years older than I am! Hehehe, Yeah! I'll be the Wizard King before I know it!"

Sekke: "Haha! The Wizard King, huh? Now that's dreaming big, but as for the person next in line…"

Sekke began to say, with everyone beginning to cheer.

Sekke: "If you take a look up there, you'll see. That's the front-runner. Captain of the Golden Dawn, said to be the mightiest Magic Knight squad, William Vangeance."

When hearing Sekke introduce him, Asta and Yuno swallowed their saliva, somewhat nervous.

Sekke: "He has his squad members' complete trust. I hear it was Captain William who took the enemy general's head in that battle a while back."

Random Guy: "Man, it would be awesome to get into the Golden Dawn. That, or the Silver Eagles."

Random Guy No.2: "Don't be an idiot. Royals and elite nobles are the only ones who ever get into those squads."

At this time, Yami took a seat, followed by Fred, Finral, and Gordon who are all standing behind him.

Yami: *Yawn* "Let's get this over with. The sooner we start, the sooner we'll be done."

William: "This exam is going to decide these youths' futures. You really shouldn't be taking it so lightly."

Yami: "You take it seriously enough for all of us."

Sekke: 'All the captains, here in one place.'

Asta began to look around, saying.

Asta: "And the Wizard King?"

Sekke: *Chuckles* "Like he would bother with something as pedestrian as an exam! Just getting all the squad captains in one place is miraculous already."

The examinees all continued to chat, before William started speaking.

William: "Attention, examinees! Thank you for waiting. I will be administering this year's entrance exam."

William held out his grimoire, with the pages rustling before stopping on a page.

William: "Magic Tree's Descent."

As William said this, green light appeared from his grimoire, as dark clouds covered the entire coliseum. 

Big gusts of winds went through the coliseum, causing the examinees to gasp and hold their ground.

A big green light appeared in the clouds, revealing itself to be the roots of a big tree.

Finral: "Surprise, surprise. Amazing as usual."

The roots extended, before turning into magic brooms that are used for flying, being handed to all of the examinees.

Asta and Yuno: 'Right now, this man is the one closest to becoming the Wizard King.'

William closed his grimoire, saying to the examinees.

William: "You've waited long enough. The time has come. Let the entrance exam begin. In just a few moments, we'll begin the first in a series of tests."

William took a breath before continuing: "The nine Magic Knight captains will be serving as your judges. And when the exam is complete, we will choose the individuals we want on our squads."

William took another breath and continued: "If chosen, you are in. If more than one squad chooses you, you will decide which you would like to join. However, if you are not selected by any squad, that means you have been deemed unqualified to join the Magic Knights."

Asta: 'That won't happen. I will be chosen.'

William: "And now for your first test. You must use the brooks you've been given to fly."

After William said this, the examinees began to chat amongst themselves in worry.

William: "A mage who is in control of his or her magic power can do it on instinct alone. It is our most basic way to get from one place to another. If you can't fly on a broom, then you are not worth our time. Enough talk. Now, begin."

After saying this, the examinees all began to try and fly on the brooms they have been given. Most of the examinees made groaning and grunting sounds, before they slowly took off of the ground.

Some of them got kicked off of their brooms, some of them had trouble staying upright on their brooms, and some are riding them fairly easily.

Charlotte: 'This test is an excellent way for us to gauge the examinees' basic abilities. Seems we have a number of promising candidates this year.'

As Charlotte continued to think, Yuno was easily flying on his broom, flying on it while standing completely upright.

When Fred saw this, he used his Holy Reinforcement Magic: Mystical Eyes of the Holy Angel to look at the examinees mana reserves and magic attributes.

Fred noticed something surprising when he looked at Yuno and Asta.

Fred: *Smirking* 'Turns out that Yuno should be a hybrid like me or something similar as he has 2 magic attributes but doesn't seem to know it yet, and Asta should have a devil residing in his grimoire which I didn't notice before because it didn't have malice towards us and instead has malice towards other devils. His attribute should be something similar to Anti-Magic and Yuno should have Wind and Star magic attributes.'

Random Guy: "Hard to believe a guy from some backwater village could do so well."

Random Guy No.2: "He was chosen by the four-leaf clover."

While they were talking, they heard grunts and looked behind them to find Asta.

Asta is straining using all of his strength, trying to get the broom to fly, however is failing.

Fuegoleon: "What's going on there? Even if he doesn't have any significant talent, he should still be able to float."

Random Guy No.3: *Laughing* "Can you believe this guy?"

Random Guy No.2: "Well, that's one down at least."

Asta: *Grunting*

Random Guy No.4: "Why did he even bother to come?"

Sekke: "Hey, what are you doing? This is supposed to be the easy part. Try relaxing your muscles a bit. See? It really couldn't be simpler."

Asta watched Sekke float higher.

Asta: "Wow! Man, that's so awesome!"

Sekke: "Don't tense up. Let it come naturally."

Asta: "Right, got it! You're a good guy, you know?" *Groans*

Asta is relaxing his muscles before saying.

Asta: "Nope, still not happening!"

Time passes quickly and the Magic Power test, Magic-Power Control test, Creation Magic test, and the Evolution Magic test have been completed, with Asta completely failing at all of them and Yuno easily completing all of them.

At this time, all of the examinees are chatting to each other, with William interrupting them.

William: "On to the next test. The final and most difficult. A display of combat skill."

The examinees muttered nervously, gasping when they heard what William said.

Fuegoleon: "Prepare to duel! You will break into pairs and fight each other. Use your grimoires to attack and defend."

Random Guy: "I bet losing will tank your chances of being chosen."

Random Guy No.2: "Better to choose an easy partner. Someone weak."

Fuegoleon: "As knights, battle is our business. We wanna see everything you're capable of!"

William: "The test will end when one combatant either surrenders or is unable to continue. We have mages wielding Recovery Magic standing by for the injured."

Fuegoleon: "So, don't hold anything back!"

Asta: *Gasp* 'The last test! I've done nothing but shout this whole time. The best way to show off now is to pair off with someone strong. There's got to be someone who'll agree to fight me.'

Sekke put his hand on Asta's shoulder and asked him.

Sekke: *Chuckles* "What do you say you and I pair up?"

Asta dropped to the ground on all fours, stretching his hand towards Sekke.

Asta: "You really mean it, Sekke? You're willing to take on a charity case like me?"

Sekke: "Oh, absolutely!" *Chuckles*

Asta: "You really are a good guy!"

At this time, a mage stopped in the middle of the coliseum, and said.

Random Mage: "We're ready for the first bout. Let's go."

Asta and Sekke went to the mage, wanting to go first.

Asta: "We're coming!"

Sekke: *Chuckles*
