Black Clover: The Spirit Angel Magic Knight

As Asta and Sekke are preparing to fight, Asta began to talk to him.

Asta: "We're both working for the same goal. So, we'll have a fair fight, but nobody pulls and punches, okay?"

Sekke went up to Asta and got into his face, whispering to him.

Sekke: *Laughs* "Stop trying so hard. It's almost getting painful to watch. You're just a grubby little gutter rat who's way out of his depth. I guess I should thank you for sticking around and making me look good. Once I'm chosen by a squad, I plan to kick up my heels and enjoy the ride. It's going to be so much fun. Now, let's get this over with, shall we?"

Asta growled as Sekke continued to talk.

Sekke: "Then you can scurry on home to the garbage heap you came from, and get back to whatever pitiful excuse for a life you have left." *Laughing*

Sekke went to his position as the fight was about to commence.

Random Guy: "Man, he had the right idea. Picking the weakest partner to duel."

Random Girl: "Oh, Sekke…"

Random Mage: "Now, begin."

The mage said loudly while waving his hand down, commencing the fight.

Sekke: "No pulling punches, remember? Let's do this, Asta." *Chuckles*

Sekke's grimoire began to flip pages, before stopping on a page, glowing with mana as a construct began to form.

The construct is a transparent sphere that encases Sekke inside it. The sphere has several peaks at random positions. It also has an intricate pattern across its surface.

Sekke: "Bronze Creation Magic, Sekke Magnum Cannon ball!"

Sekke then began to look at the captains, while the other examinees began to chat to eachother.

Sekke: 'What do you think of this, captains? The bronze Magic power I've crafted is dual purpose. It protects me and attacks with magic bullets. It will fend off his pathetic attacks, showing off my skills at defense. Then, the second he's exhausted, I'll go on the offensive and shoot."

Random Guy: "Well, this is a done deal."

Random Guy No.2: "Some kid from the sticks doesn't have the power to get past that."

Random Guy No.3: "Man, I wish I could've been the one to take him on."

Random Guy: *Chuckle* "And did you get a look at that tattered old grimoire of his?"

Random Guy No.2: "I mean, seriously, do you think he can even use magic?"

Random Guy No.4: "A no one from Nowheresville."

Random Guy No.5: "No chance any squad's gonna make an offer for him."

Up in the stands, Finral began to talk.

Finral: "That seems like some fairly high-level magic for an examinee."

Yami: "He looks like an insect, though. A big, spiny pillbug."

Fred: "He's going to lose anyway."

Finral: "Why are you so sure?"

Fred: "He has what I would consider the rarest magic attribute, probably rarer than both of my magic attributes combined, which have had 2 possessors of my Spirit Magic in history and 9 possessors of Holy Magic in history including me. He should probably be the only one in the entire history of all worlds, to possess his magic attribute, if it can even be called one."

Back on the field, Sekke is continuing to brag and be obnoxious.

Sekke: "Come on, don't get shy on me now." *Chuckles*

Sekke: 'Good. Watching him struggle should liven things up.'

Asta: 'Alright, here we go.'

Asta gripped the ground with his feet, before pushing of the ground, causing the area where he pushed off from to break, rushing towards Sekke.

The Magic Knight captains were surprised at his speed.

William 'He's quick. Fast Movement Magic?'

Yami: 'No magical enhancements there. This kid is just in crazy good shape.'

Asta put his hand next to his grimoire as a massive rusty claymore came out of it, holding it in his hands, as he slammed it down, cancelling Sekke's magic and slamming him with the claymore.

Sekke: "Uh…"

Asta: *Grunt*

As Sekke was smashed to the ground from being hit by the claymore, the ground cracked, sending the pieces of the ground that were broken off flying.

Examinees: *Gasp*

Sekke started foaming at the mouth and making sounds.

Sekke: *Gasping and Spluttering*

Random Girl: "Is he okay?"

Asta began to talk to Sekke, resting the rusty claymore on his shoulder.

Asta: "Unlike you, Sekke, I'm not joining the Magic Knights just so I can slack off and have a little fun. I've got a much bigger goal. I'm gonna be the Wizard King."

The people at the scene began to think or talk about what happened.

William: 'That grimoire…'

Yami: "Hey."

Yuno: 'He's not the one who will defeat you, Asta. I am.'

Random Guy: *Gasp* "Is that a magic sword?"

Random Guy No.2: "So he's not just some poor reject from the sticks. What's his deal?"

Random Guy No.3: "Who is he?"

Random Guy No.4: "And that stuff he said…"

Random Guy No.5: "About the Wizard King…"

Asta overheard them talking and told them loudly.

Asta: "That's right, you heard me. I'm gonna become the Wizard King, you got it?! There a problem with that?!"

Random Guy No.4: "He's officially nuts."

Random Guy No.3: "Him, the Wizard King? Talk about delusions of grandeur."

Random Guy: "He's so out of touch with reality. I almost feel sorry for the guy." *Laughing*

Random Guy No.6: "Withdraw already, you dumb kid!"

Asta: "Who are you callin' a dumb kid?"

Back in the stands, they are chatting.

Finral: "Huh. Creation Magic, I'd wager."

Gordon: *Whispering* "Impressive moves."

Finral: "Based on the other tests, I would've never expected him to have that much magic power."

Yami: "Yeah, well…" *Chuckles*, "He didn't use magic power."

Finral: "Huh?"

Yami: "I mean, it's not so much that he didn't use it. More like he doesn't have it.", 'Matter of fact, I didn't pick up on any mana before. But he's sayin' he's gonna be the Wizard King?, *Scoff*, We got ourselves a real odd duck here.'

William: 'Hmm.'

Yami: "Fred, you said that he had a magic attribute, right? What is it, and why does it matter if he doesn't have any mana?"

Fred: "I would say that his magic attribute is Anti-Magic, which also explains why he doesn't have mana, because it should get rid of his mana. However his Anti-Magic should be able to have the same effects as regular mana, meaning that he is like a berserker, using his Anti-Magic to increase his physical capabilities, canceling out magic, and just beating people up using just his sword and his body."

As they continued to talk, the duels continued, with flashy spells from different elements being used continuously.

Random Guy: "Wow. Watching nobles fight is something else."

Random Guy No.2: "Between their raw power and their training, they're unstoppable."

Currently dueling are two nobles, using Water Magic and Earth Magic respectively.

The water mage noble, is sending out water serpents made using Water Creation Magic, to try and attack the earth mage who is currently standing on an earth giant, created using Earth Creation Magic.

The giant blocks one of the serpents with an arm, dispersing it. The water mage is quickly moving by standing on one of the serpents, moving around the giant, trying to prevent it from hitting him.

After a while of dodging, the giant successfully attacks the water mage who was riding on the water serpent, sending him crashing into the ground.

Asta: "Whoa! So cool!"

Random Guy No.3: "Seeing the show these two are putting on makes me think that runt from before was nothing to write home about."

Random Guy No.4: "Right? The other guy was just careless, that's all."

While Yuno is resting, a noble walked towards him, asking him.

Noble: "What was your name? Oh, yes. Yuno, was it? Well, looks like you don't have a sparring partner yet. Perhaps, you would like to take me on, then."

The noble has long, blond hair, tied back in a long ponytail, with his bangs offset to the left. He has fair skin, and pencil-thin blond eyebrows, with mostly-slanted green eyes. He wears a white shawl and small stud earrings.

Yuno started to walk towards the dueling area with the noble, causing the examinees to talk.

Random Guy: "Hey, isn't that…"

Random Guy No.2: "Yeah, it's Salim."

Random Guy No.3: "From the Hapshass family."

Salim: *Chuckles*

Salim: "You may have been chosen by the four-leaf clover, but you're still a mere commoner. I'll show you just how superior we nobles are to your kind in rank and power. Oh, and wealth, too, obviously."

Salim: *Chuckles*

After the duel is ready to begin, the mage that has been refereeing the duels said while waving his arm downward.

Random Mage: "Now, begin."

Salim: "Having the opportunity to battle the great Salim de Hapshass. That alone is quite an honor. It will give you something to talk about when you return to your little village."

Yuno didn't respond to Salim's provocation, causing Salim to open his grimoire, continuing to provoke.

Salim: "You won't go empty handed. Take this as a souvenir. A special noble's move I call, 'Holy Lightning Rising Salim.'"

Yuno also opened his grimoire as a large ball of lightning appeared in front of Salim, who began laughing.

Salim: "Hahaha! I've arranged for your transportation home."

Salim: *Chuckles*

Salim then sent the ball of lightning flying towards Yuno, who used his own spell.

Yuno: "Wind Magic, Towering Tornado!"

Yuno created a massive tornado out of wind that collided with the ball of lightning for a prolonged period of time.

Salim: *Grunt*

Salim began to lose his footing as the tornado began to lift him into the air.

Salim: *Yelp*

Salim was pulled into the centre of the tornado, being attacked by the wind and lightning, causing him to scream.

Salim: *Screaming*

After a few seconds of being in the centre of the tornado, both spells began to dissipate, causing Salim to fall to the ground.

Salim: *Screaming*

Salim collided with the hard floor, causing him pain, with his grimoire also falling to the ground.

Salim: *Grunt*

Salim: *Panting*

The examinees were stunned at what they saw and began discussing it.

Random Guy: "He totally flattened a noble!"

Random Guy No.2: "I can't believe it!"

Asta: "Whoa!"

The people in the stands also began to discuss.

Nozel: "Huh."

Gordon: *Whispering* "He's really good. I wonder if he'd like to be our friend."

Finral: "Wow! A good showing."

Yami: "Yeah."

After they talked for a while longer, all the duels have finished and the exam has also been completed.

William began to talk to all of the examinees who are organised.

William: "That concludes the exam. When your number is called, please step forward to learn your results."

Charlotte: "If a captain wants you on his or her squad, they will raise a hand. That means you're in. If you do not wish to join a squad, you may, of course, decline. If you are admitted into more than one squad, it is up to you to decide which you will join."

Fuegoleon: "However, if no squad wants you, you will not be a Magic Knight."

Nozel: "In which case, you must leave at once."

Announcer: "Examinee number one, step forward."

Examinee 1: "Uh, yes sir."

Some time has passed.

Announcer: "Number 32, no hands."

Announcer: "Number 40, no hands."

Announcer: "Number 45, no hands."

Announcer: "Number 67, no hands."

Some time has passed and the first person who had a raised hand has appeared.

Examinees: *Gasp*

Examinees: *Chatting*

Asta: "Cool!"

Random Guy: "The first raised hand!"

Random Guy No.2: "Lucky!"

Announcer: "Number 71, the Purple Orcas."

Time began to pass quickly again.

Announcer: "Number 78…"

Fuegoleon: "We'll take this one."

Announcer: "The Crimson Lion Kings."

Announcer: Number 99, The Coral Peacocks."

Announcer: "Number 116, no hands."

Number 116: "Aw, man!"

Announcer: "Number 141… no hands."

Examinees: *Gasp*

Number 141: "Yeah, that's pretty much what I expected. Well, I guess the fields back home won't till themselves."

Asta: *Heavily breathing*

Asta: 'This is intense.'

Time has passed quickly again.

Announcer: "Next, number 164."

Yuno: "Here."

Announcer: "Do we have any hands?"

After the announcer said that, all the captains raised their hands.

Examinees: *Chatting and Gasping*

Random Guy: "No way."

Random Guy No.2: "All of them?"

Random Guy No.3: "Impossible!"

Random Girl: "Has that ever happened?"

Random Guy No.4: "I… I guess it's not just royalty and nobles who can get into the Golden Dawn."

Random Guy: "Wow, the Silver Eagles, too!"

Random Guy No.5: "They all want this guy who came out of nowhere?"

Asta: *Spluttering* 'Whoa! They all want him? Way to show 'em Yuno! That's my rival for you.'

Yuno: 'I have to choose the squad that offers me the best path to becoming the Wizard King.'

Yuno: *Exhale* "It would be an honor to join the Golden Dawn."

Examinees: *Gasping*

William: "Hmm."

Finral: "They nabbed the cream of the crop."

Gordon: *Whispering* "I wanted him to be our friend."

Yami: "Well, what can you do?"

Announcer: "Next! Number 165."

Finral: "Oh. The dark horse is up."

Asta: 'I've come this far. I can't let Yuno pull ahead now. Someone, please pick me!'

Announcer: "Do we have any hands?"

Asta: 'I don't care which squad. Raise a hand, any hand!'

Noticing that no one is raising their hand to have Asta join their squad, Fred uses his Lightning Spirit Magic: Electromagnetic Message to telepathically communicate with Yami.

{Yami. I don't know if you know the potential of Asta, but his growth limit should be around what Yuno has, and there is a possibility for both of them to reach my growth limit. You can do a test to see if you want to, but at least make sure that you don't want him, without being scared of the unknown power he possesses, as I will teach him to control it.}

Yami: 'Hmm. It seems like Fred is quite optimistic about this kid. Let's see how he will handle being under immense pressure.'

Asta: *Grunt*

Announcer: "Number 165… no hands."

Asta: *Heavy Breathing*

Asta: "It can't be."

Examinees: *Clamoring*

Random Guy: "C'mon, outta the way!"

Random Guy No.2: "I'm up next: It's over."

Asta: "I'm not done. Not yet."

Random Guy No.3: "Have some pride!"

Asta: *Shaking*

Asta: "I… I… I'm not…"

Yami: "It's no real surprise, is it?"

Asta: *Gasp*

Finral: "Yami?"

Fred: 'Thank goodness!'

Yami: "No matter how great your skill in battle might be, no one wants to touch a power that mysterious. People aren't fond of the unknown."

Asta: *Breathes shakily*

Yami: "It boils down to this, what the captains are looking for here is magic power. That simple."

Yami then began to release his Mana Pressure, startling the examinees, causing them to shake.

Examinees: *Yelping*

Random Guy: "What's going on?"

Yami then jumped from the stands, to where the examinees are.

Finral: "Hey! What are you doing?"

Asta: 'It's like magic is coming off him in waves.'

Yami then began to slowly walk towards Asta, looking extremely menacing and putting immense pressure on Asta's mental state.

Asta: 'This is it. The power of a Magic Knight captain.'

Yami: "What would anyone ever want with you? A kid with zero magic. You might as well face the facts. What you said before. That you took the exam 'cause you wanna become the Wizard King."

Asta: *Breathes Shakily*

Yami: "You get what that means, right? If that's really your goal, you're gonna have to prove that you're better than all nine Magic Knight captains. And now, standing here magicless and pathetic, can you really say you have what it takes? That you're strong enough to be the Wizard King?"

Asta: *Gasps*

Asta: *Grunts*

Asta: "Yeah, fine. So maybe I won't get to join a Magic Knight squad today. But no matter what anyone says… and no matter how many times I might stumble… I won't give up! I will become the Wizard King!"

Yami then stopped releasing his mana pressure, looking deeply at Asta.

Asta: *Breathing Shakily*

Yami: *Laughs*

Yami: "You know, kid. I like you. Come join our crew."

Asta: "Wha…"

Examinees: *Murmuring*

Yami: "Quit gapin' like a fish. I'm sayin' I'll let you into the Black Bulls."

Asta: *Gasps*

Yami then glared at Asta, threatening him.

Yami: "By the way, you don't get to say no, got it?"

Asta: "What?"

Yami: "And it won't be a picnic. We're gonna put you through the wringer till you don't recognise yourself. So get ready."

Yami: *Laughs*

Asta: "What?"

Yami: "And then, once we're done, you go and become the Wizard King."

Asta: *Gasp*

At this time, Asta remembered all the struggles along the way, and said excitedly.

Asta: "Right!"

Time has passed quickly again, and the exam is completely over.

Announcer: "Number 512, no hands. Thank you, this concludes the Magic Knights Entrance Exam."

As all the dejected examinees began to leave, Asta met back up with Yuno.

Yuno: "Asta."

Asta: "You're Golden Dawn and I'm Black Bulls. The real battle starts now."

Yuno: "Yeah. We'll see who—"

Asta: *Stomach Rumbles*

Yuno: "Uh…"

Asta then ran to the bathroom, screaming.

Asta: "Damn! I really have to poop! Oh, god, is that grilled violetsnake I ate earlier coming back for revenge? It's close. Real close. Way, way, way too close! Gotta go! Gotta go! Gotta go!"

Asta rushed into the bathroom, not noticing Sekke standing outside of the bathroom.

Sekke has an evil grin on his face.

Sekke: 'You think you can humiliate me and walk away? Well, I'm going to show you exactly how wrong you are about that, Asta. Thanks to you, I missed out on the good squads. I'm stuck in the lower-middle ranks with the Green Praying Mantises. I'm a damn bug!'

Sekke: *Scoff*

Sekke: 'You think you can come from the backend of nowhere and become the Wizard King?'

Sekke began to flip through his grimoire, before stopping on an page.

Sekke: 'Idiot. Sorry, but that's just not how life works.'

Sekke: 'Bronze Curse Magic, Sekke's Poison Lizard.'

Sekke used a spell, creating a cyan blue lizard that crawled out of his grimoire, moving towards where Asta is in the bathroom.

Sekke: 'You got lucky against me, but how about this lizard? Will your good luck hold? If not, the best you can hope for is to spend the rest of your life bedridden!'

Sekke: (Laugh)

As the lizard got to the entrance to the bathroom, an eagle made out of wind caught the lizard between its talons.

Sekke: *Gasps*

Yuno: "What are you doing?"

Sekke: *Gasps*

Sekke looked up and saw Yuno with a slightly angry face, holding a glowing grimoire.

Sekke: 'The four-leaf!'

The wind eagle shattered the lizard, causing Sekke to get nervous.

Sekke: "Uh, um. Haha. I'm just playin' a little joke, that's all. I thought that maybe we could even make a friendly wager."

The wind eagle, got up close to Sekke's face, causing him to get more nervous.

Sekke: "Just a bet about which one of us will come out on top in the end, you know?"

Yuno: "Then get lost. Go on. You are nowhere near his level."

Sekke: *Whimpers*

Sekke began to quickly leave and said to Yuno.

Sekke: "Right! I just remembered there's something I have to do. Be sure to give Asta my regards, won't you?"

Sekke: *Nervous Chuckle*

Asta came out of the bathroom, patting his belly, with a smile on his face.

Asta: "Oh, boy! That is so much better! Ah! Everything came out just fine. Bye-bye, violetsnake."

Asta and Yuno walking in different directions thought at the same time.

Asta and Yuno: 'Now, then. Let's go!'

Asta has arrived and met up with Yami, Fred, Finral, and Gordon.

Yami glared at Asta, saying with an annoyed face.

Yami: "You got a lotta nerve making me wait like that, newbie. Just how long was this dump you took, anyway?"

Asta: Man, Captain! You wouldn't believe it, seriously! Like long. Yeah, and huge, too."

Asta began to gesture how long it was, causing Yami to be disgusted, putting his head in a vice grip with his hand.

Yami: "That is not what I meant when I asked how long it was."

Asta: *Grunts and Yelps*

Yami: "Like I wanna spend my time chattin' about your turds, ya moron!"

After putting Asta's head in a vice grip for a while, he turned to Finral.

Yami: "Go on, Finral."

Finral: "Okay!"

Finral then created a portal, which Fred walked into after saying something to them.

Fred: "I'll go first. Don't make me wait too long."

Asta's eyes shined when he saw Finral make the portal.

Asta: "Whoa! How cool! What is that?"

Yami: "Obviously, you can't fly on a broom. So you're gonna have to learn some kinda movement spell to get around."

Yami: *Chuckles*

Yami: "Oh, right! You don't have any mana!"

Yami: *Laughing*

Asta: *Screaming*

Finral could be seen struggling keeping the portal opened and told Yami.

Finral: "Um, excuse me, Yami. This is a pretty sizeable gate to keep open for so long. Could you hurry up and go through already?"

Yami gave Finral a death glare, and started threatening him.

Finral: *Yelp*

Yami: "It almost sounded like you were tellin' me what to do. Suck it up. Dig deep and push your limits."

Finral: "Wha…"

Finral: *Nervous Chuckle*

Yami: "In ya go."

Yami threw Asta through the portal, before they all walked through it.
