HI3: I Don't Want to Be a Valkyrie

Chapter 92: Chapter 40: Judgement Of Shamash

The Beast Kingdom of Eurazania

This Demon Lord-ruled nation found itself suddenly invaded by an uninvited guest.

An enormous black dragon hurtled directly toward the royal palace.

Countless warriors of the Beast Kingdom watched this lawless black dragon, wishing to halt its advance, but not a single one possessed the capability to do so.

Just then, an immense golden cross descended from the heavens, crashing directly in front of the Beast Kingdom's royal palace. The impact triggered a quake that shook mountains and sent shockwaves through the land, knocking every beast humanoid in the vicinity flat.

Including those so-called "powerful" Beast knights.

The golden cross stood tall before the royal palace as Theresa, with Blood Embrace draped over her shoulders, descended from the sky and landed atop the cross.

To the surrounding lycanthropes, this spectacle was nothing short of a provocation.

Yet, when they attempted to approach and defend their honor at all costs, they discovered they couldn't move an inch.

"Come out, King of Beasts Carrion! Fight me!" Theresa challenged, her voice ringing from atop the cross.

atop the cross.

In that instant, a deafening roar filled the air as a massive soundwave hurtled towards Theresa.

But the ever-prepared Theresa instantly conjured a blood-red energy barrier around herself, rendering the soundwave utterly harmless.

"Spare me! Who dares to cause a scene before me, Carrion?"

Before her eyes materialized a towering figure, his golden fur shimmering as if bathed in sunlight.

"Beware, Beastfolk Emperor of Demons, I challenge you to a duel!"

"Most intriguing," responded Carrion, his decision swift and magnanimous. Without hesitation, he accepted, not even bothering to ask for Theresa's name. "But not here."

"Let us choose another battleground, then."

-

In a desolate, uninhabited place, Theresa stood with Judah slung over her back, a blood-red short sword in hand and a pistol at her waist. She gazed calmly at the Demon Lord Carrion before her.

"Let the games begin!"

Carrion opened with a punch, his fist crackling with unparalleled force as he lunged at Theresa.

"Oath of Judah!"

Theresa hurled the cross directly in front of her.

Carrion couldn't pull back in time, his fist slamming into the cross—Boom!

Fist met cross, releasing an explosion on impact.

A massive crater instantly scarred the earth.

The cross emerged unscathed, while Carrion's hand turned scarlet with heat, seemingly unaffected.

Unfazed, Carrion locked eyes with Theresa, who was still dashing to the side, and charged at her once more.

"Judah, spread!"

As Carrion lunged, Judah's cross unfurled, instantly binding him with holy power. Simultaneously, shafts of radiant spears shot from the cross.

"What intriguing power, but... this won't detain me." As the spears bore down on Carrion, he extended a claw-like weapon, shattering the spears above him with a single slash. In an instant, he vanished, reappearing free of Judah's shackles.

He then struck out at Theresa with his claw.

The Demon Lord's furious energy slashed towards Theresa.

As the demonic energy was about to strike Theresa, time itself seemed to freeze.

Night of Fright

In the moment where time and space froze, Theresa's two blood-colored daggers flew from her hands like projectiles, piercing straight through Carrion's body.

Moments later, the blood-colored daggers returned to Theresa's fingertips, transforming into the Axe of the Fallen.

Theresa charged towards Carrion, raising the Axe of the Fallen high above her head.

Just as she brought it down, Carrion's body sprang to life. Ignoring the wound in his gut, he watched the axe hurtling towards him and hastily raised his clawed arms to block.

Simultaneously, his Beasts' King battle aura erupted.

Theresa's axe managed to snap one claw before being repelled.

While Theresa was forced back, Carrion entered a state of berserk fury. His body flashed, appearing before Theresa at lightning speed, reaching out to grab her.

"Vaporization!"

Theresa's expression shifted; her body instantly turned into mist, rendering Carrion's attack futile.

Bleeding Roses!

Upon his return, several blood vines materialized around Theresa, swiftly enveloping Carrion in their tendrils.

Before he could react, the blood vines vanished without a trace. However, multiple blood seals now marred his body.

These seals began relentlessly absorbing his blood, turning it into mist.

"Admit defeat! This time, you'll truly die!"

As Theresa gazed upon Carrion, a sense of powerlessness washed over her.

Around them, the landscape bore the scars of battle, countless fissures having shattered the earth. Though seemingly in the upper hand, Carrion refused to relent.

Theresa knew he hadn't unleashed his ultimate move yet—but then again, neither had she.

She glanced at the gun nestled at her waist, her eyes fixed on the stubborn figure before her.

With but a draw of this weapon, even an awakened Demon Lord or God would surely perish.

Of course, its wielder would pay the ultimate price as well.

A suicidal armament: the Judgement of Shamash!

Forged from the Herrscher core of the Seventh Law, the Herrscher of Flames, these revolvers were a potent anti-Honkai weapon, channeling the very essence of the Herrscher of Flames. They boasted the most formidable "destructive" power, embodied in a pair of magnificent pistols.

The gun's body was a study in contrasts: black and white enameled bands encircling the barrel, which gleamed with a golden hue. A crimson Herrscher core was inset into the safety catch, its presence both mesmerizing and foreboding.

Like the holy relics, the construction of the Judgement of Shamash employed soulium alloys. However, hidden within each of the two pistols lay half a crystal, akin to a Herrscher core in structure, formed from condensed Honkai energy.

But for now, they remained as mere pistols, their true potential yet untapped.

However, once the two Luminous Cores at the gun's safety positions are connected, the blade will form from the now complete Luminous Core, a usage method known as "Fire of Heaven Unsheathed"!

This was also the strongest form of the Judgment of Shamash, truly deserving of its name as the Key of Destruction.

With a single Fire of Heaven Unsheathed, even other than the Herrscher of Finality, all the other herrschers could basically be cut down with one slash. However, due to the extremely powerful Honkai corruption it contained, once used, there was a high chance that the user would also pay the price... of their life!

At the end of the previous era, Kevin Kaslana, the ancestor of the Kaslana family, once used it to hunt down the Ninth and Eleventh herrschers all by himself.

"I concede..." Taking in Theresa's serious expression and the weapon at her waist, Carrion's heart rate skyrocketed.

If this continued, he would truly die.

But he still had his own country...

The Demon Lord... submitted.

Seeing Carrion concede, Theresa put away the Judgment of Shamash.

And then made one request of him: Demon Lord's blood...

Quest: Demon Lord's Blood (Completed)

With only the main quest to defeat the Savior remaining, Theresa gave it some thought before heading straight for the Kingdom of Englassia.

Upon arrival, she located the commander of the Freedom Association, Kagurazaka Yuki.

After giving him a thorough thrashing and indulging in a bit of "bullying" towards Chloe Aubert—the little girl who, despite being only a few years old, would grow up to become the most powerful Hero—Theresa completed the main quest.

Having earned access rights to the new world, Theresa returned to the Monster Kingdom, spent three days enjoying herself, and then directly entered the new realm.

After wrapping up her affairs, Theresa returned to the Monster Kingdom of Tempest for what she knew would be her final time. The streets were as vibrant as ever, full of bustling monsters going about their lives, a testament to Rimuru's leadership.

In the center of the plaza, Rimuru stood waiting, his humanoid form relaxed as he waved her over with a cheerful smile. Shuna was by his side, her serene expression tinged with sadness.

"You're really leaving, huh?" Rimuru asked as Theresa approached.

Theresa nodded, her expression calm but resolute. "I've stayed longer than I planned. It's time for me to move on."

Rimuru tilted his head, his easygoing demeanor softening. "Well, you've been a big help here. Even if we didn't always understand each other, I appreciated having you around."

"Don't get sappy, slime," Theresa replied, a faint smirk tugging at her lips.

Shuna stepped forward, her voice soft but full of emotion. "Theresa... must you go so soon? You've done so much for us. For me. I—" Her words faltered as she lowered her head.

Theresa glanced at Shuna, her stern demeanor softening. "Shuna, you're strong enough to stand on your own. You don't need me. You've got Rimuru and everyone else to watch your back."

"But..." Shuna hesitated, tears glistening in her eyes. "I don't want to see you go."

Theresa placed a gentle hand on Shuna's shoulder. "You don't need to hold on to me. What you have here is worth fighting for. Just keep growing stronger, Shuna. For yourself. For your people."

Shuna nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll do my best. Thank you, Theresa."

Rimuru gave a small chuckle, stepping forward. "Don't worry, Shuna. Theresa's tough—she'll be fine wherever she goes. And who knows? Maybe we'll run into each other again someday."

Theresa smirked. "Don't count on it, slime. But if I do come back, I expect to see Tempest thriving."

"You bet!" Rimuru gave her a thumbs-up. "Take care out there, Theresa."

Theresa turned toward the shimmering portal waiting at the edge of the plaza. She paused, casting one last glance at Rimuru and Shuna. "Take care of them, Rimuru. And Shuna... keep believing in yourself."

With that, she stepped into the portal, the light enveloping her form.

As the portal vanished, Shuna wiped her eyes, a small, bittersweet smile gracing her lips. Rimuru watched the spot where Theresa had stood, hands on his hips, before turning back toward the heart of Tempest.

"Guess we'd better make sure things stay lively around here," Rimuru said with a grin.
