Chapter 176: Syr: Which Familia You'd Like To Join?

Chapter 176 - Syr: Which Familia You'd Like To Join?

As time passed, many adventurers in the tavern left one after another after finishing their meals, while others arrived to eat.

The table where Syr and Mahiro sat gradually became the center of attention in the tavern.

Every adventurer who entered would involuntarily pause in surprise upon seeing Syr and Mahiro's table.

The regular patrons of the Hostess of Fertility all understood the rules: any attempt to flirt with or bother the maids would surely result in...

"Who is that guy, sitting there having dinner with Miss Syr?!"

"Who knows? I only saw Syr bring him in!"

"Where's Mia? Someone's clearly breaking the rules—she should come and deal with him!"

"It was Mia who told Syr to have dinner with him."

"Seriously? I'm so jealous!"

Many adventurers cast envious and resentful glances toward Mahiro.

The air in the tavern was thick with scent of jealousy.

Some, feeling as if they'd lost out on a great opportunity, drowned their frustrations in drink, muttering bitter words as they emptied their mugs.

"Looks like the drinks are selling a lot better than usual tonight," Mia remarked with a bold smile as she surveyed the bustling tavern.

"Almost three times as much as usual!" Anya said cheerfully.

"Seems like we have that kid Syr brought to thank for this," Mia said, glancing absently at Mahiro.

"True, but Syr doesn't seem too happy," Anya snickered, casting a mischievous glance at Syr.

"Alright, back to work. Take this; it's for the guests at that table," Mia said, handing a large plate of food from the kitchen to Anya.

"Got it, nya!" Anya replied enthusiastically, quickly taking the dish to its destination.

"Here, Miss Syr, eat a little more," Mahiro said, placing food into Syr's bowl with ease.

His movements were casual but carried a sense of familiarity, like that of a close friend—or even a couple.

However, Syr's response was anything but pleased.

She gave Mahiro a resentful glare.

"My stomach is already full... I really can't eat anymore," Syr complained, lying on the table with a defeated expression.

Though the food was delicious, Mahiro's persistent hospitality was overwhelming.

Each time Syr tried to refuse, Mahiro would come up with an excuse that left her with no choice but to eat.

Resting her chin on her arm, Syr looked at Mahiro with pitiful eyes, her expression practically begging for mercy.

Her soft and neighborly charm was enough to make any other adventurer falter and comfort her.

Even Mahiro had to admit that Syr had an inexplicable appeal that could draw men in.

"You told me yourself not to waste food, Miss Syr," Mahiro said with a smile, unmoved by her gaze.

"I take it back!" Syr groaned, turning her eyes away from Mahiro.

She weakly eyed the food in her bowl, then closed her eyes and exclaimed in frustration,

"You're so mean!"

Mahiro's smile softened. "Alright, alright," he said gently.

Under his warm gaze, Syr's face reddened slightly.

Looking at Mahiro with a mix of embarrassment and grievance, she murmured, "You're such a bully, you know?"

"By the way," Mahiro began, "I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Mahiro Toma."

"Mahiro..." Syr repeated thoughtfully. "What an unusual name."

"Ah, sorry," she quickly added, realizing her comment might come off as rude.

"That was impolite of me."

"It's fine," Mahiro said with a chuckle.

"Compared to the names here in Orario, it does sound strange. You don't need to apologize."

"I'm Syr," she said with a sweet smile.

"Syr Flova. You can just call me Syr."

"Got it, Syr," Mahiro said easily, addressing her familiarly.

"Mahiro," Syr said curiously, "you mentioned Orario earlier. Are you not from here?"

"No, I just arrived in Orario today," Mahiro replied honestly.

"Are you planning to stay for a while, or are you thinking about settling here?" Syr asked, her tone suddenly eager.

"I'm here to stay for a while," Mahiro answered.

Syr's face brightened. "I see," she said, smiling warmly.

She seemed genuinely happy to hear his response.

"Have you found a place to stay yet? Do you know anyone here?

"What's your plan in Orario?" she asked quickly, then realized how intrusive her questions sounded.

"Sorry, that was too forward of me."

"It's okay," Mahiro said with a reassuring smile.

"There's no harm in asking."

After a brief pause, he continued, "I was planning to find a inn to stay in tonight."

"As for my future plans... I'm hoping to find a familia to join and become an adventurer."

"Exploring the dungeon sounds like an exciting challenge."

"An adventurer, huh? I believe you'll definitely become a strong one, Mahiro," Syr said with a twinkle in her eyes, her voice brimming with confidence in him.

"Thank you," Mahiro said with a nod of appreciation.

"However," Syr added, her tone turning serious, "choosing the right familia is very important."

Syr's concern was evident.

In Orario, the gods formed familia as their family, consisting primarily of adventurers.

These groups were the foundation of life for anyone who wished to explore the dungeon.

Starting out as a new adventurer without proper support was incredibly risky.

The dungeon claimed countless lives, particularly those of inexperienced rookies.

"If you join a strong familia, the risk to your life will be much lower," Syr explained.

"Have you thought about which familia you'd like to join?"
