Risotto and his entire team have just left the Greed Island game. After a few months of being in the game they found themselves back in their usual place of residence, or to be more precise - in Melone's flat. After such a long absence, everyone had grown accustomed to their familiar surroundings, but it was still incredibly nice to finally be home.
- Holy shit! - Giaccio sighed with relief and collapsed into the nearest chair, 'I can't believe we're finally done with this game and back home.
- I'm shocked myself. - Melone agreed.
Even though they had all slept well after their exposure to the Dark Stand, they were still a little tired, so they sat down to rest and catch their breath. Risotto sat down in a chair, and the others took chairs and the couch.
- And so... - Risotto spoke, then sighed with a little relief, was silent for a few seconds, and then spoke again, - We have travelled an incredible way, overcome many dangers, and still found what we were looking for. But we have no time to relax. This cipher could have already been found by Diavolo. By the way, Giaccio, show me what you wrote down.
- Damn it... - Reluctantly Gyaccio got up from his chair, tore out a sheet of paper from his notebook and put it on the table, - This is such bullshit.
Everyone went over to the table to see what was written on the sheet.
- It's really some bullshit. - Said Formaggio.
And it did make sense. There were some strange symbols written on the sheet that didn't look like anything Risotto knew, except for one thing.
- The same symbols as on the piece of paper we'd found the first time, the one that had led us to Greed Island.
- Well, that's great. How are we supposed to decipher this stuff? - Illuso wondered.
Everyone was silent for a few seconds, and then Kurapika spoke.
- Remind me again who decoded the last cipher?
- The Mafia,' Prosciutto answered him, 'They somehow managed to decipher that crap, and they wanted to sell it at the Auction to whoever wanted to find it.
- Yeah, I see... - Kurapika was silent for a few seconds, - Then it's simple. If they could decipher that code, they can decipher this one.
- What are you saying?
- We're gonna rob the Mafia again. - Risotto said and sat back in his chair.
- What? - Prosciutto asked in bewilderment, - Wait, you mean they have something that can decipher it?
- Bingo. They definitely have something, and we have to find out.
- So we're back to robbing the mob? Interesting... When do we start?
- Tomorrow. We don't know anything yet about what we're looking for or where. We'll start doing that tomorrow. Gathering information and such. In the meantime, we should get some rest. All right, let's go to our flats.
Risotto got up from his chair and walked towards the exit of the flat, everyone else, except Melone and Giaccio, followed him. Once outside, he went straight into his flat, which was very close by, followed by Kurapika. He sat down at his favourite place near the window, where he could see the view of the unchanged city, from which he had already got a little used to.
- You're so quick,' Kurapika said, sitting down in the chair beside him, 'We're barely home and you're talking about the next step. We've barely been home and you're just talking about the next step,' Kurapika said, sitting down in his chair.
- Maybe you're right, but you know what the situation is right now. I've already mentioned that Diavolo may have found the cipher too, and maybe even before us. So there's no time to rest. We need to do everything we can to stay at least one step ahead.
- Hmm, that does make sense. But you're being a little vague about what we're doing. You need more details.
- Yeah, that's true, but I haven't really thought it through yet. I'll be more specific about what we're doing later.
- Suit yourself. - Kurapika got up from his chair and went to the kitchen cooker, -Will you have tea?
- Come on.
Kurapika poured water into the kettle and put it on the cooker, then opened the fridge and took out bread and sausage to make a sandwich, but immediately threw them away, because the expiry date had long since expired.
- Shit... There's no fresh food left. I'll go to the shop and switch off the kettle when it boils.
Kurapika went to the shop to get fresh food, throwing all the spoilt ones in the bin. Risotto at this time just continued to sit by the window and contemplate further.
'Finally the adventure in this damn game is over. It was certainly an interesting experience, but damn it... I almost died, and several times at that. What am I talking about? I'm used to it, and it's probably gonna get worse. And by the way... I didn't die. I seriously thought it was the end and the prediction had come true. But I'm alive. What does that mean? Was that stone's prediction true or not? Is it just a bad dream, or should I die later, not now? Oh, I wish it was just a dream. I wish I could wake up one day from this nightmare and just start living a peaceful life. But not now. Right now, we have to keep walking down this broken path until a way out shows itself.'
Suddenly he was pulled from his musings by a smell that was a little reminiscent of either cinders or something else. Turning to the cooker, he realised it.
- Fucking kettle!
