Chapter 109: Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 70.2
Magneto coldly replied, "I'm sorry, but she is no longer my subordinate. I will show no mercy to those who betray me!"
Mystique trembled and said, "Erik, you have completely changed. Now, for power and desire, you can completely disregard a friend's life."
"You are not my friend, Mystique!" Magneto's tone was icy, and a chilling atmosphere permeated the room, causing everyone to tense up and prepare for an attack.
Ye Hai said, "Magneto, isn't it strange? Even though I know you've set this trap, why do I still come here?"
Scarlet Witch laughed, "So, you really threw yourself into the net, did you?"
"Yes," Ye Hai said, looking at the captivating figure before him with admiration.
"What is your purpose?"
"My purpose is to help you improve your equipment," Ye Hai replied with a smile.
Everyone exchanged puzzled looks, not understanding what he was up to. This guy seemed to be trying to make a good impression.
Magneto narrowed his eyes and said, "Young man, I know you have many achievements in genetics, but as I told you, no matter how great your ability is, you don't have the time to improve it."
Ye Hai tapped his own head and said, "Magneto, I have many abilities, but my most outstanding ability is my brain. My brain is smarter than all of yours combined, thousands of times over. I can help you enhance your equipment; this is also the professor's intention. If you don't believe me..."
"Shouldn't we trust the professor as well?"
Magneto's gloomy face finally broke into a smile. He said, "I understand your plan now. You will help me perfect the mutant machine, and then at the summit, we will fight together. Regardless of the outcome, there won't be heavy casualties, and it will also show the public that mutants can be good or bad; they aren't all terrifying individuals. Ha, that certainly fits Charles' style."
Everyone suddenly realized, glancing at Ye Hai with complex expressions, all wondering if this person could really perfect the machine.
Mystique felt a bit confused. She had risked her life to inform them, bringing Ye Hai in to sabotage the machine, only to be told that he was actually there to help improve it. Was there really such a significant brainpower involved?
"Charles, that honest man, is also playing tricks now?" Mystique thought as she looked at Ye Hai. "Could it be that this little devil came up with the idea? Just look at his scheming face, it's clear he harbors a lot of ulterior motives!"
"So, you are confident you can perfect it?" Magneto expressed the thoughts of the crowd. "There are only a few days left until the summit, young man, and you still know nothing about the machine."
"Then let's not waste any time," Ye Hai replied, relaxing his shoulders.
Magneto smiled, saying, "Very well, I will trust you this once."
"You should trust your old friend, Professor X, right?" Ye Hai thought to himself.
Ye Hai followed Magneto and the others out of the cage into a nearby room. The space was large and filled with various instruments. The metallic machine stood at the center, connected by numerous wires, with electric sparks continuously flashing. The curved section spun rapidly, releasing waves of magnetic field fluctuations that seemed to slightly alter the structure of human cells.
