Chapter 110: Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 71
Ye Hai felt the weight of the situation but managed to maintain his composure. "I understand the risks, but handing over my technology is not an option. I need to think about this."
"Time is running out," said Magneto, his tone pressing. "You know what's at stake. If you refuse, I won't be able to protect you from those who would exploit your talents."
Ye Hai could feel the tension in the air. He realized he was trapped in a negotiation where the stakes were high, and his freedom was on the line. He took a deep breath, weighing his options carefully.
"Let me consider it for a moment," he replied, trying to buy time.
Magneto watched him intently, a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Take your time, but remember, the clock is ticking. I will hold the cards in this game."
With that, Ye Hai turned away, heart racing. He needed to devise a plan—not just for the immediate dilemma but for what lay ahead. The pressure was mounting, and he understood that any decision he made could change the course of his life.
"This is what I have researched and made public. Those shady individuals will reach out to me, but I don't care."
Ye Hai interrupted him, "Are you looking to use this technology to collect the abilities of mutants? Just like in 'The Awakening'?"
"Yes, that's exactly what I want to do. If I can collect the abilities of mutants from all over the world, I will become a god. Under my leadership, mutants will dominate all of humanity..."
Magneto did not deny his ambitions at all.
"Is your rebellious ideal really that simple? Always fantasizing about dominating the world—doesn't that get boring and exhausting?" Ye Hai mocked.
Magneto frowned slightly, "Then what is your ideal?"
"I won't conquer the world, nor will I let others conquer me. I will possess great power, but I won't provoke anyone. If someone dares to provoke me, I will show them my wrath and my ability to destroy," Ye Hai replied.
Magneto looked at Ye Hai with pity and chuckled, "Your thoughts are just like mine when I was young. Back then, I didn't want to provoke anyone; I just wanted to live well using my powers. But reality is always so cruel. Many people never let me have peace. They are always so interested in my abilities. Unable to deal with me directly, they target my family and friends, hoping to threaten me. I have repeatedly destroyed those delusional individuals, but new waves of them keep appearing. They are like weeds: cut them down and they grow back. The troubles never cease."
He looked at Ye Hai mockingly, "Ye Hai, your current thoughts are as naive as mine were when I was young. If you hold onto this mindset, you will regret it for a lifetime when your friends get hurt."
