Chapter 112: Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 72.2
"Great, we can cooperate from now on. I need to take Little Rogue home; that little girl has been here for so long, she must be frightened."
Magneto led Ye Hai to a small room, which contained only a toilet and a bed. Little Rogue was curled up on the bed like a desperate prisoner.
When she saw Ye Hai, Little Rogue widened her eyes in disbelief, staring at him for a long time before asking tremulously, "Are you Dr. Ye?"
Feeling pity, Ye Hai nodded and said, "Yes, I'm here to take you home."
Little Rogue was overjoyed at first, but upon seeing Magneto, she jumped into the corner like a startled bird, shrieking, "You're not Dr. Ye, you must be that ugly woman covered in blue scales! What scheme are you planning? Get away from me!"
Her hysterical screams were filled with madness and fear.
Ye Hai glared at Magneto, infuriated. What exactly had this guy done to frighten this poor girl so much?
Magneto shrugged and said, "We just kept her confined in this small room and didn't let her go out."
"A 'black room'?" Ye Hai understood now. Humans confined in a closed space for too long could easily break down psychologically. It was said that even those with strong willpower could succumb to such stress.
Moreover, there is this little mischievous girl, around fifteen or sixteen years old.
Ye Hai lightly raised his hand, and the little girl floated up, flying to his side. He spoke gently, "You see, Mystique doesn't have this ability."
The little girl felt somewhat awkward, but her nervousness had eased considerably. She nodded slightly and said, "Maybe." Her emotions were fluctuating; just a moment ago, her screams had released her fear, and now she seemed fearless.
She didn't trust Ye Hai, but it didn't matter anymore; she felt her fate was sealed. "If only it were Dr. Ye," she thought. She had heard that Dr. Ye was very powerful and could defeat the great evil, Fang Cidu, like the heroes in fairy tales. But even great heroes need to know where the princess is trapped to rescue her—clearly, Dr. Ye didn't know she was in this remote cave.
"I wonder if Dr. Ye will think of me after I'm gone," the little girl thought bitterly, and then tears welled up in her eyes, dampening the fabric of Ye Hai's shirt.
Ye Hai held the little girl, smiling gently. "What's wrong? Is it height, or is it lonely?"
Suddenly, the little girl realized she was being held by Ye Hai and that they were flying in the sky. She blinked in confusion and said, "Aren't you Mystique?"
Ye Hai replied helplessly, "I am definitely not Mystique. Mystique is an old mutant. Have you ever heard of her flying?"
"Not at all," the little girl thought back and couldn't recall any instance where Mystique could fly, which meant that this Ye Hai was genuine.
In an instant, joy filled her heart. Her face flushed, and she felt a bit dizzy. She exclaimed excitedly, "You really are Dr. Ye? You're my knight?"
"Yes, I am Dr. Ye, my princess. Your loyal knight has defeated the evil dragon, and I have come to take you home!"
