Marvel: Scientist Becomes God [R18]

Chapter 113: Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 73.1

In an instant, a sense of happiness filled her heart. She wanted to cry her eyes out and share the painful experiences she had gone through these past few days with Ye Hai. However, as her tense spirit relaxed, a wave of fatigue washed over her. Her eyelids kept fluttering, and after simply saying "thank you," she closed her eyes and fell into a peaceful sleep.

"What a pitiful child," Ye Hai said softly, gently stroking her hair. Even though he made contact with her skin, nothing unusual happened; the system blocked him, preventing her from absorbing Ye Hai's abilities.

Ye Hai flew rapidly through the sky and soon arrived above the Mutant Academy before landing on campus. The Storm, one of the area's officers, rushed out, the teacher who seemed to care most about this little girl.

Storm glanced at Little Rogue and asked, "How is she?"

"She should be fine; she just fell asleep," Ye Hai replied as he cradled Little Rogue in his arms and carried her to her dormitory. Along the way, several students curiously watched, but most didn't show any concern. It seemed that, as Phoenix had said, this little girl didn't have many friends in the academy.

A boy rushed in; he was a handsome young man, probably about sixteen or seventeen years old. His demeanor was quite composed, lacking the liveliness typical of someone his age.

"Hello, Dr. Ye," the boy said. "I'm Bobby Drake, also known as Iceman. I'm a good friend of Little Rogue. How is she now?"

Ye Hai looked at the boy and smiled, "She just experienced a scare and is a bit mentally fatigued; it's best not to disturb her." Saying this, he gently tidied up Little Rogue's messy hair, inevitably brushing against her skin in the process.

Iceman was instantly shocked. Once they stepped out of the room, he couldn't help but exclaim, "Dr. Ye, you aren't afraid of her abilities! How did you manage that? Or is it part of your ability?"

"Yes," Ye Hai nodded slightly. "My ability is quite special. I'm somewhat similar to Little Rogue; I can replicate others' abilities. However, I completely replicate them without taking away their abilities. I suppose that's why I'm immune to her power."

Little Rogue has the ability to drain the powers and life force of those she touches, a trait she can't control, which is why others at the academy fear her. Consequently, she has very few friends, except for the enthusiastic Iceman. Perhaps he, like many young boys, is infatuated with her beauty and wants to befriend her. However, he is also apprehensive, creating an internal conflict that Little Rogue, being sensitive, has noticed. As a result, she has isolated herself, showing little enthusiasm toward this eager boy.

If Iceman could overcome his fear and pursue Little Rogue, it would be easy to melt the fortress around her heart, much like a scene from a movie. Yet, it was obvious that the boy had not yet prepared himself for this. He admired Ye Hai's abilities greatly and was pleased that Little Rogue had encountered such a remarkable person.
