Chapter 14: Chapter 14 little brother and older brothers trick.
As Ace finished securing Aria's seatbelt, he asked, "Done? Is it still hurting?"
Aria opened her eyes to find Ace's warm gaze locked onto hers. She felt a flutter in her chest and quickly looked away, her cheeks flushing.
Ace's eyes never left hers, and he thought to himself, "Why is my control slipping when she's near? Perhaps it's because I truly love her."
Aria, still feeling shy, avoided eye contact. But when Ace started to lean in, his eyes locked onto hers, and she felt a jolt of anxiety. What was he doing?
Just as suddenly, Ace straightened up, securing her seatbelt and leaning back into his seat. Max, who had been watching from the backseat, chimed in, "Wow, Brother, you'll be a perfect husband to my sister! Look, she's blushing!"
Aria's face grew even redder as Ace and Max burst into laughter. The rest of the drive was filled with Max's chatter and Ace's occasional laughter, while Aria remained quiet, listening in.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Ace helped Max out of the car, and they walked in to pick up their order. Aria's eyes widened as she scanned the array of colorful cakes on display.
As they prepared to leave, Ace asked Max, "Which one do you want?" Max's response made Ace chuckle: "Brother, I feel like fainting."
Meanwhile, Aria walked to the other side of the counter to buy their ice cream. When she returned, she couldn't find Ace and Max, so she walked to the entrance, where she spotted Ace standing by the car.
"He's in the car. Let's go," Ace said, but Aria hesitated. "There's no need; we'll take a cab from here. Thank you for the drive earlier."
Ace walked closer, his voice soft and deep. "Why don't you want me to drive you home, Aria?" He seemed displeased, his eyes no longer warm.
Aria took a step back, trying to create some distance between them. "It's not like that; I just think it's okay that you drove us here. We'll go back ourselves."
Ace's expression turned cold, his eyes narrowing. "Or is it because you don't want to spend time with me now that you have Marcel?" His voice was low and dry, laced with a hint of jealousy.
Aria's eyes widened in surprise. "No, Ace, it's not like that."
Ace's gaze bore into hers. "If it's not, then you want to spend time with me."
Aria felt her words caught in her throat as Ace's intense stare left her breathless.
Just then, Max's voice piped up from the backseat, "Sister, you want some cake? I asked Brother, and he said he didn't want some."
Aria's eyes snapped to her brother, who was covered in cake, his face a mess. She couldn't help but laugh.
As they prepared to leave, Ace handed Aria a cake box. "This is Max's cake."
Aria smiled, thanking him, but Ace just gave her a cold glance.
Max, still excited, thanked Ace and said goodbye. As they walked away, Ace asked, "Do you want me to marry your sister?"
Max's response was immediate: "Of course! You're such a good man; you bought me cake!" Ace burst into laughter.
As they walked further away, Ace called Max from behind and walked forward to where they are, Ace leaned in and whispered to Max, "Okay, since you want me to marry your sister, you should tell her to get in the car so I can take you home, can you?" Max agreed, smiling mischievously.
