Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Invincible Defense
"Ten-Finger Drilling Bullets!"
*Clink!* Ten tiny finger bones struck Shin's chest, only to rebound instantly.
"What? Impossible!" a Kaguya clan ninja shouted in disbelief.
Shin pulled out a kunai and threw it with incredible force, resulting in a loud boom. The kunai shot through the ninja's chest, creating a wide, gaping hole as if fired from a high-caliber sniper rifle.
"Dance of the Willow!"
Another Kaguya ninja charged forward, executing fluid and precise movements as he attacked with sharpened bone spurs. Each strike met the resilience of Shin's body, which sounded like metal as it deflected the attacks, breaking the bone spurs on impact.
"How is this possible?!" gasped the Kaguya ninja, shocked at his shattered bone blades.
Without a word, Shin responded with a powerful punch accompanied by a sickening crunch. The Kaguya ninja's body collapsed under the force; his bones shattered as he was left in a broken heap.
"Dance of the Camellia!"
A veteran Kaguya warrior, clearly of higher rank, withdrew a bone blade from his arm, attempting a fierce strike at Shin. The blade splintered instantly on contact, leaving the elder ninja coughing up blood and filled with disbelief.
"Impossible! My bones are supposed to be harder than steel!"
Ignoring their incredulity, Shin activated his Munch-Munch fruit ability, his arm transforming into a massive blade. He sliced clean through the Kaguya warrior with one swift motion, leaving him bisected on the ground.
"The elder was killed in a single blow!"
"How could he be tougher than our bones?!"
"It's as if he's an evolved version of our clan's abilities! We can't win against this!"
The Kaguya clan, known for their relentless bravery, now appeared shaken. Shin's physical resilience and brutal strength overwhelmed them, shattering their confidence as he outmatched them in the very technique that was their pride and identity.
"You dare challenge us!" A massive figure from among the Kaguya stepped forward—clearly the clan patriarch. The surrounding ninjas stilled as though finding their footing in his presence.
"It's the Patriarch!"
"Patriarch, be careful. His body's resilience surpasses even our toughest bones!"
The Kaguya patriarch scoffed. "The more one develops their dead bone pulse, the stronger the bones become. There's no such thing as an unbreakable defense! If you can't harm him, it's only because your bloodline ability isn't fully developed!"
With an indignant huff, he added, "Prepare yourself—I'll break every bone in your body!"
Shin nearly yawned, raising an eyebrow in mock impatience. "Done with your speech? Then bring it on."
"Arrogant fool! You'll pay for underestimating the Kaguya clan! Dance of the Clematis: Vine!"
In a quick motion, the patriarch pulled out his own spine, transforming it into a whip-like weapon that coiled around Shin instantly.
Shin made no attempt to dodge or resist; he was curious to test the patriarch's signature move. At the same time, his right hand morphed into a giant drill, and with precise aim, he struck at the Kaguya leader's torso.
A harsh grinding sound filled the air as Shin's drill made contact. To his mild surprise, the patriarch's bone whip actually managed to pierce a centimeter or two into Shin's iron-like flesh, though at the expense of the bone's integrity.
Shin's sage body rapidly healed the minor damage as the Kaguya leader looked on in disbelief.
"Impossible! This move injured even the Third Raikage!"
Shin's brow furrowed. 'Wait, didn't the Third Raikage only get hurt by his own attack? Are they exaggerating again?'
Brushing off the thought, Shin sneered. "Is this really your best move? Where's the legendary Dance of the Seedling Ferns?"
The Kaguya patriarch's face flushed with anger. "Do you mock me?! No one in the Kaguya clan has managed to use the Dance of the Seedling Ferns in decades!"
"So it's just for show?" Shin smirked. 'I guess that makes sense. Kimimaro was treated like a prized asset for being able to perform such feats.'
In truth, Shin recognized that few Kaguya clan members could even activate their dead bone pulse ability, making the so-called Dance of the Seedling Ferns an impossibility for most. Only a few elite clan members could hope to perform it, and even the patriarch struggled to match his ancestors' combat skills.
The patriarch's face turned a deep shade of red at Shin's taunt. The drill-like bone weapon extended as he prepared for another strike.
Shin, however, had no patience for further theatrics. He exerted a bit more strength and, with a sharp crack, snapped the spine whip cleanly.
The patriarch's drill, aimed once again at Shin's chest, was halted by an invisible layer of black energy—Shin's armament haki. With a shattering sound, the bone drill broke apart in his hands.
"Not good!" was the last thought that crossed the Kaguya patriarch's mind as Shin's fist, cloaked in haki, shoved into his torso. Though it appeared undamaged from the front, the entire back of the Kaguya leader's body erupted outward in a gruesome display, his bones and organs scattering.
"No... this can't be real..."
"The patriarch was defeated with one punch!"
"He withstood the attack twice... how can we hope to stand a chance?!"
Witnessing the shocking display, the remaining Kaguya clan members felt their spirits crumble.
Their attacks barely scratched Shin, while his retaliations devastated them. Lacking any further advanced techniques beyond their dead bone pulse and basic ninjutsu, they had no means of combating his unbreakable defense.
One elder, his voice quavering, cried out, "Retreat! Everyone, fall back! Someone needs to warn the others! The Fourth Mizukage is targeting the ninja clans!"
The elder turned and ran toward Shin, throwing himself into the fray to cover the retreat.
