Chapter 77: Genjutsu
Shikai then headed towards the Akimichi clan's neighborhood. Upon arrival, he was immediately greeted by Chōza Akimichi, the clan's leader, who grabbed him by the shoulder with a wide smile.
"Shikai! It's been a while! Come in, you can't leave without tasting our new recipes."
Before he could protest, Chōza dragged him inside where an impressive array of dishes was already prepared.
'These guys eat all the time?'
"I can't eat that much... I've already had breakfast," he tried to say.
"A second breakfast has never killed anyone! Come on, sit down."
Shikai found himself at the table again, nibbling on a few dishes to avoid offending his host. As he ate, they chatted casually.
"So, Shikai, what's new? It's been a while since you last visited."
"I've been busy with intense training," Shikai replied. "But I'm finally back."
Chōza nodded with a smile.
"That's good. My son, Chōji, could learn a lot from you. He's still young, but he has a good heart."
Shikai smiled slightly.
"I'm sure he'll become a great ninja. The Akimichi have always been reliable."
"Actually, I'm about to create pills that will be specifically tailored to an individual. They will amplify their metabolism, and Chōji might be the first to test them."
"Ha ha, well, well..."
The conversation continued in this light and friendly manner. Eventually, Shikai managed to extricate himself by pretending to have other visits to make.
His next destination was the Yamanaka store, where he was welcomed by the clan's leader, Inoichi. The latter, always courteous, invited him to talk in the back, in his garden.
"Shikai, it's a pleasure to see you. Sit down, let's chat a bit."
The conversation quickly turned to personal matters, and Inoichi soon brought up his daughter, Ino.
"You know, my daughter often talks about you. She admires you a lot," he said with an amused smile.
"Inoichi-san... I doubt she even remembers me," Shikai said with a sigh.
"Haha. What do you know, children have good memories."
Shikai, surprised, replied with embarrassment:
"As you said, she's just a child for now. And besides, I'm much older than her."
Inoichi burst out laughing.
"You're five years older than her, that's all. It's nothing with time. Who knows what the future holds?"
Shikai averted his gaze, embarrassed.
"To be honest, I like someone else... And I already consider her my little sister. It's complicated, and I'd rather not think about it."
Inoichi nodded with understanding.
"That's a shame, but the heart has its reasons. Anyway, if you ever change your mind, I'll support you."
Shikai sketched a smile, grateful for Inoichi's blunt honesty. After a few more exchanges, he took his leave and headed towards his next destination.
On his way, Shikai crossed paths with Asuma Sarutobi, who was calmly smoking a cigarette, leaning against a wall.
"Shikai! It's been a while," Asuma said with a warm smile.
Shikai stopped to greet him respectfully.
"Asuma-sensei. It's a pleasure to see you."
"You're also a jonin now, no need to call me sensei. Besides, it's impressive to see you as a jonin at such a young age," Asuma remarked.
Shikai shook his head modestly.
"It's nothing compared to Itachi Uchiha. He obtained this position much earlier than me."
Asuma laughed lightly.
"That's true, but everyone follows their own path. And you have your own talent."
The conversation continued for a while. Asuma talked about the difficulties of missions, and Shikai explained that he planned to focus on patients at the hospital for a while.
"The Yondaime would be proud of you," Asuma stated seriously.
Shikai smiled, touched by those words.
"Thank you. I hope so too."
They parted ways, and Shikai continued on his journey.
As he thought about his next plans, Shikai passed by the Konoha Police Station. After all, he still had to play the role of the boyfriend returning from a long trip.
While walking, he briefly recalled some of the jonin he had crossed paths with, like Kurenai. He couldn't help but shake his head when thinking about her confrontation with Itachi in the manga.
'Taking Itachi in genjutsu? Really? What did she plan to do next? Drown Kisame with a suiton?' he thought, internally laughing in an ironic manner. It was this kind of incapable jonin that Shikai intended to reshape. Jonin who could easily defeat the Third Raikage.

Shikai pushed open the door of the Konoha Police Station, his expression calm but alert. He wore his jonin uniform impeccably, and his aura of silent power immediately drew the attention of the Uchiha present. Some chūnin exchanged skeptical looks, but none dared make any inappropriate comments.
"I want to see the clan leader," he stated in a neutral voice.
One of the guards, despite a hint of contempt in his gaze, nodded towards a corridor.
"Follow me."
'Always annoying, these guys. Wait a few months, and Itachi will calm them all down.'
Shikai followed the guard to Fugaku Uchiha's office. As he entered, the clan leader raised his eyes from his documents and observed the young man. Fugaku, known for his seriousness and authority, seemed curiously satisfied by this visit.
"Ah, Shikai?" he said in a grave voice. "Call Izumi," he ordered the guard without waiting.
Fugaku indicated a seat across from him, and Shikai sat down, remaining on his guard.
"How did your training go?" Fugaku asked, crossing his fingers in front of him.
"It was intense," Shikai replied honestly. "I've made a lot of progress, but I still have a long way to go."
A silence settled.

Two Mangekyō Sharingan shone in his pupils.
"Damn," Shikai murmured, realizing what was about to happen.
