Onepiece: I'm Gojo Satoru

Chapter 61: Chapter 57 Pirates Conflicts

Satoru was deeply intrigued by the battle between Shanks and Kaido, but unfortunately, he knew it was a conflict he wouldn't be able to witness up close.

The clash between the two titans wouldn't be resolved in a day or two—more likely, it would stretch over days, even weeks. And Satoru's current responsibilities weighed heavily on him. The G8 base needed stability, and his absence could leave it vulnerable to a sudden attack, turning him into a laughingstock among the navy. He couldn't risk that.

While Satoru couldn't directly partake in such a high-stakes fight, he still felt a surge of longing. He wanted to experience what it would be like to be in a battle of such scale, to stand toe-to-toe with beings of that caliber. He yearned to understand what it felt like to wield that kind of power, and perhaps most importantly, to stop feeling like a spectator.

Right now, he was aware of his own limitations. Although Satoru had mastered techniques beyond the average warrior, there were still barriers he couldn't cross. Without the ability to wield the powerful "Conqueror's Haki" (or Overlord Color) to its fullest extent, he would be no match for those who could. Even his infinite warlock abilities, powerful as they were, couldn't fully protect him from those who mastered this art.

He could feel the gap between himself and the truly top-tier pirates and warriors. It frustrated him, but Satoru understood it wasn't something that could be remedied overnight.

Soon, his body would be able to support more of his power. His growth spurt, which would allow him to master both "Armament Haki" and "Conqueror's Haki," was inevitable. But that moment was still a couple of years away. For now, he was stuck in this intermediate stage of development.

Yet, the idea of combining "Black Flash" with Haki and fully mastering his reversal techniques excited him. The question that burned in his mind was how to integrate these skills into a fighting style that could rival the most powerful beings in this world. For Satoru, these weren't just idle thoughts—they were challenges waiting to be conquered.

"Then, just wait for my good news. I heard you were transferred here. I was planning to visit you and reminisce about the old days, but I didn't expect to see such a thrilling scene right when I arrived," Shanks remarked with a grin, referring to the recent battle between the G8 Navy and the pirates.

"You know how it is," Satoru chuckled. "My reputation's not fully established yet. There are always those who want to step on my name to get ahead. And besides, if you showed up in a pirate ship to find me, it'd look like a challenge to the navy."

"Guess it's better to keep our distance, then. You're trouble enough as it is," Shanks replied, his tone serious, though there was still a smile on his face. He understood the threat Satoru posed.

Satoru appreciated Shanks' recognition of his power. After all, Shanks knew better than most that challenging him could lead to unpleasant consequences. The red-haired pirate would rather avoid a fight unless absolutely necessary. Even a fight with Satoru could cost him dearly, and it wasn't a risk he was willing to take.

After a brief exchange, Shanks and his crew prepared to leave the area, aware of the constant threat posed by Kaido's crew. The proximity to the Hundred Beast Pirates' territory was a ticking clock, and the red-haired pirates couldn't afford to linger. No celebration was held—time was too precious.

Satoru, meanwhile, returned to the G8 base. The captured pirates had been handcuffed, but transporting them to Impel Down posed a significant challenge. The prison was located in the first half of the Grand Line, far from the New World. Sending a warship for such small fry wasn't a priority for the navy, and no one had the luxury of wasting resources on low-level pirates.

As he inspected the damage caused by the previous battle, a thought suddenly crossed Satoru's mind.

"Let them rest in the cells for now. After that, we'll have them help repair the surroundings. We'll make the base even better than it was before," Satoru ordered, looking to make the most of his prisoners.

His lieutenant, Claire, saluted. "Understood, sir."

The respect in her eyes reflected the general sentiment within the G8 base. Satoru's swift victory over the three notorious pirates had proven his strength in no uncertain terms. The base's officers and men were in awe of him, fully aware that the defeat of pirates with bounties upwards of 500 million was no small feat. Even the top brass of the navy wouldn't have been able to handle such a threat so efficiently.

As the days passed, Satoru kept himself busy with the daily grind—training, overseeing the repairs, and working with his men. The pirates were forced to repair the damage, and it wasn't long before the G8 base began to take on an even grander stature. Satoru's vision of a second naval headquarters was slowly taking shape.

Material resources weren't a concern, as pirates often carried treasure. With the occasional raid on pirate vessels and a steady influx of captives, Satoru had everything he needed to accelerate his plans.

Still, Satoru couldn't help but keep an eye on the daily newspapers. His curiosity about the outcome of the Shanks-Kaido clash hadn't waned. Though he believed Shanks must have won—after all, the red-haired pirate wouldn't challenge Kaido again if he didn't feel confident—he knew Kaido's strength was still formidable.

When news about the battle finally hit the headlines, Satoru eagerly picked up the paper.

"Shocking! Red-Haired Pirates Challenge the Beast Pirates Again!"

The headline immediately captured his attention. Beneath it was a photo of both crews facing off—an awe-inspiring image of two legendary pirate factions clashing.

Although no details about the battle itself were included—after all, such events couldn't easily be captured by any camera—the picture of the two groups standing across from each other told the story. The image radiated pure intensity, and the mere sight of it left Satoru in awe.

There was no follow-up on who won, but an attached photo showed the red-haired pirates grinning as they departed the Hundred Beast Pirates' territory. Their smiles, though tinged with fatigue, were victorious.

"Just as I thought, Shanks. You didn't disappoint," Satoru muttered to himself, a grin creeping across his face.

But he knew the true battle had yet to begin. A great storm was brewing on the horizon, one that would involve the highest powers of the sea.

Meanwhile, in the Navy Headquarters, the atmosphere had grown tense. The battle between the red-haired pirates and the beast pirates had set off waves of anticipation. The high command was already preparing for the aftermath. Discussions filled the conference room, and detailed reports on the battle were being analyzed. Satoru's name was now firmly on their radar, and the wheels of fate were beginning to turn.
