Chapter 38 - I Won’t Die, Never
“Kenya!”
Reina quickly picked up the zanpakuto and rushed to Kenya. She knelt beside the fallen Kenya, who was bleeding from his chest.
Seeing this scene, Reina froze. Touching his blood, her expression twisted, and she screamed.
“No, no, noooooo!”
A flashback. The sight brought back some painful memory for Reina, a deeply buried memory.
Reina began to hyperventilate, unable to breathe properly. Her eyes widened, and her usually emotionless face contorted with fear. While crying and seeing Kenya bleeding, she couldn’t bring herself to touch him, in confusion about whether she should or shouldn’t.
“Hey!”
“Buy some time! We’re explorers too!”
“Damn it! Let’s do this!”
More than a hundred explorers were inspired by their actions and started running. They rushed toward the Goblin King, trying to buy some time for Kenya to recover. Each one alone was weak, but together they could at least buy time.
They repeatedly drew its attention, ran, and attacked. They couldn’t face it head-on. Not a single one should die; this wasn’t a fight to defeat it, but just to buy time.
Many explorers were hanging by a thread, surviving on a fine line. It wouldn’t be strange for that thread to break at any moment. But they were the only ones who could fight now.
“Show your guts, guys!”
“Don’t let those kids hog all the glory!”
“Yeeeaaah!”
They literally fought with all their might. They knew they couldn’t win. But the boy taught them that standing up against it was courage.
“Huff, huff.”
Reina kept hyperventilating, unable to move. She couldn’t touch Kenya or tend to him. Even so, she kept trying to reach out and pull back her hand repeatedly.
(Mom, Dad… No, no. Don’t die. I don’t want this. No, no, no.)
“Reina, don’t worry, I won’t die.”
But her hand was held. Firmly, strongly, her trembling, helpless hand was held.
Kenya opened his eyes, sat up, and looked straight into Reina’s eyes. His injuries weren’t too deep, probably thanks to his 400 defense points. Though it was a severe injury, the blood loss made it seem worse.
Kenya, without showing any pain, told Reina again.
“It’s okay. I won’t die.”
Reina, surprised, looked at the boy who, while bleeding, gazed straight at her, as if he had heard her wish not to die and answered it.
Then Kenya took out his equipment. To use the power of alchemy that only he was allowed.
In this situation, there was only one piece of equipment he could create. He hoped it might change the situation.
So…
Level Up♪ Goblin General’s Necklace Lv. 9
And then…
Evolution♪ Goblin King’s Necklace Lv. 1
The King’s Necklace was completed, holding a special power that responded to Kenya’s wishes.

Kenya equipped it. To gain the power that should have been far out of his reach, at 1 million points.
‘Skill Level Up♪ Reached Lv. 13. Alchemy rank can now go up to A rank, and the limit on E-rank alchemy uses has been removed. Equipment can be changed to alchemy seeds and used in alchemy.’
(Alchemy seeds? What’s that? It doesn’t seem useful now.)
He had gained the permission to perform alchemy at the next rank. And unlimited uses for E-rank equipment. Plus, he could now create something called alchemy seeds, though he wasn’t sure what that meant.
But as far as he could tell, this power wasn’t enough to turn the current situation around.
However, there was something else. As if to celebrate, as if to respond to Kenya’s hopes, as if telling him to overcome despair.
An announcement declared the release of new power. An extraordinary ability that would normally be unlocked after gaining 1 million points. The true cheat skill of an alchemist.
And the announcement stated,
‘New Skill: Status Alchemy Lv. MAX has been unlocked.’
This skill would elevate Kenya to a unique existence.
It was the power to protect everyone from the still raging Goblin King.
His still trembling admired person. The explorers are desperately surviving on a fine line. And most importantly, himself.
He wanted to save the weak. People who were trampled by sheer power, people like his past self, who had no one to help them. The boy who wished to save such people had gained power that transcended limits.
An incompetent, poor, kind, and extremely greedy alchemist had gained the power to rewrite the rules.
And so, the boy awakened.
