Reborn, Its Time To Save My Family And.. My Enemy!

Chapter 25: A Cold Man!

Damon stared at the heath as if a large viper would come out of it and hiss at him. He knew the girl was too innocent but that was because of her age. Once she would grow up in the shadow of her mother, would she be innocent anymore?

He and they were contenders for the position of duke. There could be no friendship between them. His eyes narrowed and a layer of frost covered his eyes.

"I do not need it." the girl blinked. She looked at his cold brother and then at the small wreath in her hands, she smiled.

"Do not worry, it will fit you well. Let me show you." she tugged the dress of her aunt. Olivia did not want to move. Yesterday, when Damon had accepted her gift, she had been hopeful that he would not refuse a cute child. But she was wrong.

She hesitated before pulling Abi closer to Damon.

"It is said that.. A token of love could protect lives. Flowers given with good wishes on your birthday would.." Olivia started as she stood in front of Damon.

He did not move. But his cold eyes flickered and watched Abi's every move. The girl shifted in the arms of her aunt and raised the crown for Damon.

But before Olivia could continue and the wreath could touch his head, he pushed the crown away.

It fell on the ground at once.

"Ah!" Abi, who had not expected that Damon was angry, gasped as the flowers fell apart. The crown came loose. Though it did not tear apart completely, it could not be worn anymore. The flowers were covered in sand.

"That is alright. He did not do it intentionally. He must be very surprised." Olivia pulled the girl in her arms as she glared at Damon.

Her heart bled for the young girl. She wanted Abi to forget about Oriana but who would have thought..

"It is your mistake. You lied to her." Damon glared back at Olivia icily.

"He and I could not be family." spitting those words with venom, he walked away.

The knights stood there awkwardly. They did not know what to say. When Olivia closed her eyes, they slowly walked away.

This was the respect they could offer her.

"Brother Damon is.. He is busy." the girl sniffled as she rubbed her head on the shoulder of her aunt. No one liked her because she was useless!

She was not smart or handsome like her brother.

"Abi!" Olivia sighed. "He is just sad that he could not celebrate his birthday. He would feel bad and come to you later. Let's make a crown for Leo or he would feel jealous. I have seen some bright flowers over there." rubbing her back lightly, Olivia took the child away.

It took a long time to cajole Abi. They made three more crowns for Olivia, Leo and Abi. When they walked back, the maid took Abi to wash her and prepare her for family dinner.

Olivia sighed as she looked at the wreaths in her hands.

"That brutal man!" She gritted her teeth and returned to the training grounds. She was too careless! She had thought his heart would melt! But she had forgotten that he did not have a heart.

As she stomped her foot on the grounds and reached the place where he had thrown the flowers, she frowned.

She looked around but the weapons were still where they were. It must not be maids who had cleared this place. But the crown of flowers fallen on the ground was gone.

Her eyes widened and then she grinned.

"Oh you cold cold man, Damon!" but she would confirm this time before coming to any conclusion.

"I will use leo this time." with a shrew grin on her face, she returned to the palace.

Since Olivia had grown up more with maids in the palace, she had a good relationship with many of them. As she walked to the floor belonged to Damon.

She pulled the cleaner into the corner and whispered something in her ears.

The maid gave Olivia a curious look before nodding and leaving.

Olivia picked up the broom and walked to Damon's room. With the pretense of cleaning, she checked the whole room. Her frown grew deeper. There was no sign of flowers in the room.

"Have I thought wrong?" Olivia sighed. Perhaps it was a knight who felt bad for Abi and took it with him.

It meant she had failed. It was harder to convince Damon than she had thought. But she could not give up now!

"My lady.." Agatha was stunned to see Olivia in Damon's room.

"Aah! I was only helping a friend. There is no need to throw a fuss." Olivia waved her hands as she cleaned the room seriously. There was no sign of Damon so Agatha only frowned.

"I will punish the maid later. But you should not work like maids in the palace. Your sister is duchess. You should pay attention to her image. Forget it! Why am I explaining to you. Just leave from here and I will turn a blind eye." she shook her head as if olivia was nothing but a troublemaker.

"Why are you here though?" Olivia let go of the broom as she bent and picked up the dustpan. Agatha looked at her with disdain. How could a girl have no ambition? Olivia was nothing like her sister. No wonder she did not get any attention from eligible bachelors despite her beauty and figure.

"Your highness had called for the lord. I am here to deliver the message personally." then she paused, "do you know where is he? I do not have time to wait for him all day."

Olivia paused. As she knew why Oriana had called for Damon.

"I do not know when he will return. But if you are busy I will ask my lord to visit my sister. You can continue your work."
