Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Changes in the Territory

After returning to the Hurricane's main star, Feng Mo spent his days managing accumulated matters in the territory and his nights with Kylan, Chu Yunjian, and Ai Er.

Indeed, Chu Yunjian had arrived the day after Feng Mo's return, as she hadn't seen him in over a year and missed him dearly.

After a week spent "handling" the three women, Feng Mo took off solo aboard the Hurricane, leaving only a message on their personal terminals.

He instructed Kylan to return to the Storm System, Ai Er to oversee the Hurricane System, and Chu Yunjian to help gather a list of specific materials.

Chu Yunjian skimmed over the materials list Feng Mo had sent, sighed in relief, and then made a video call.

"Father, we need three sets of the materials on this list. This isn't something the Yunji Trading Guild can manage on its own in a short time, so we'll need the Chu family's help."

She sent the list to her father, who sat in full uniform in the captain's chair, exuding a dignified and commanding presence. After reviewing the list, he spoke warmly to his beloved daughter:

"My son-in-law hasn't even formally visited his father-in-law, yet he's already putting me to work. What a world. But since my precious daughter likes him, tell him he'll have it in a week."

With her father's assurance, Chu Yunjian ended the call with satisfaction. If the Yunji Trading Guild had collected the materials, it could have taken over a month, but her father's word cut it down to a week.

Meanwhile, Chu's father, after disconnecting, sighed and muttered, "This kid is a prodigy. To design a T5 starship within a year—no wonder he's my son-in-law; he's simply leagues above the rest!"

As for Feng Mo, he was on his way through the star gate to the Celestial Crystal System. Over the past year, the star gates for the Celestial Crystal and Beast Roar Systems had been completed and were officially in operation. The gates were managed by the Guardian Fleet led by Silia and the Beast Roar Fleet led by Hua Qin.

Under Alisa's tireless work over the past year, the main star port of the Beast Roar system had been entirely rebuilt, along with the construction of three T3 space stations. Additionally, a modified T4 radar system, covering nearly the entire Beast Roar System—slightly smaller than the Storm System—was installed.

But that wasn't all Alisa had done. Throughout the year, she had built numerous T4 starships, prioritized for the Guardian and Beast Roar Fleets, and upgraded many ships for the Elf and Explorer Fleets.

Once back in the Hurricane System, Feng Mo disbanded the Storm Fleet, retaining only two quasi-T5 flagships, four T4 Scorpion-class stealth bombers, and two T4 interception-class bioships, for a total of eight ships. The rest, including support ships, were reassigned to the Explorer and Elf Fleets.

He also had Alisa build two additional T3 Brawler-class starship carriers, giving each of the four fleets one T3 Brawler-class interstellar missile ship, while focusing on elevating the Storm Fleet's elite status with T5 ships.

This restructuring standardized the T4 ships across the four fleets, with each fleet's flagship as a T4 Mammoth-class carrier and a T4 Hurricane-class battleship, alongside ten T4 Kangaroo-class destroyers, thirty T4 Blade-and-Shield-class frigates, and a T3 Brawler, plus three to five hundred T3 starships.

This configuration represents the pinnacle of small fleets. Financially, however, Feng Mo's territory could only support this size. Both combat and support fleets had comparable numbers; increasing further would be financially unsustainable.

With nearly four thousand starships to maintain, annual upkeep alone cost at least eight figures in star credits. Factor in energy, ammunition, and repairs, and it's an unending expense.

Yet, Feng Mo wasn't too worried, thanks to the two flesh-consuming "elders" who had provided a considerable bounty over the past year by consuming every insectoid corpse Feng Mo could deliver.

The Devouring Ancient Tree yielded fourteen fruits, and the Bloodthirsty Vine produced forty-three fruits. However, the vine's herb fruits were kept as a strategic reserve, as they're the primary ingredient in T4 gene serums.

Conveniently, Ai Er and Feng Tianyi were both at the peak of T3. Without assistance, it was uncertain how long it would take for them to break through, but now they could begin T4 gene serum treatments.

Of the fourteen Devourer Fruits from the Devouring Ancient Tree, most had already been assigned: three to the Chu family, two to the Hua family, one to Uncle Gu, two to the Wang family, and one promised to Professor Luo.

Of course, these nine Devourer Fruits weren't gifts; Feng Mo offered them at half the market rate. His set price of fifty million star credits per fruit brought in 450 million credits, providing much-needed relief to the territory's finances.

With the credits, he immediately repaid the Fengyun Starship Trade Company, clearing 140 million in debt—a loan he'd taken along with dividends to cover the territory's vast expenses over the past year.

All T4-grade and lower resources produced from Feng Mo's four territories were either directly used to produce T4 resources or collected by the Chen family on the open market as dark matter and dark energy crystals.

In the four territories, Feng Mo also invested in constructing schools from kindergarten through university. With the growing territory came a growing need for talent. Elder Yang sent a steady flow of personnel each year, but there was still a shortage.

A T4 starship requires at least seven or eight hundred crew members, or even thousands. Feng Mo owns over a hundred such ships.

A T3 starship needs a minimum of one hundred crew members, and up to a thousand. Feng Mo owns nearly two thousand, which calls for over a million skilled crew members. And that's not even counting the logistics fleets or the mechas and fighters.

There's also the need for soldiers to guard resource planets, stand on watch, and maintain order. Beyond all this are the high-end talents, with Alisa's technology division hosting hundreds of thousands of ship designers, engineers, and builders.

Talent cultivation had become a top priority. Feng Mo's ongoing investment was to ensure an ample talent supply. He was deeply envious of the Federation's Starship Design Department, with its concentration of high-level talent totaling nearly a billion advanced starship engineers.

Known as the most competitive department in the Federation, it had no equal. The department's billion personnel were all top-notch; frankly, none were lesser than Feng Mo, except they didn't have his luck.

After all, luck is part of one's strength. Some are born in Rome, and others are born in servitude. Each has a different fate.

Arriving in the Celestial Crystal System, Feng Mo went to check on the white hole he had been monitoring. Still inactive, he gave Silia some instructions and crossed the star gate to the Beast Roar System.
