Superman: The Lost Warrior

Chapter 15: A Friend in Need

Zara's POV

"What do you mean you will help her? Do you know how dangerous it is involving yourself in this?" Kal-El asks sternly, his arms crossed as he towers over me. I meet his gaze without flinching, my face impassive. "You don't have to get involved," I reply calmly. "I can deal with this myself."

The room falls silent as my words sink in. Everyone exchanges worried glances, unsure of how to respond. Diana steps forward, breaking the tension. "I don't care what the rest of you think," she says firmly, her voice filled with warmth and concern. "I can't bear the idea of my little Zara doing this herself."

Kara quickly nods in agreement, stepping closer to me. "You can't possibly expect her to go alone!" she exclaims. She wraps her arms around me protectively before adding, "We can't let these human traffickers get away with this."

One by one, the rest of the team voices their support. Bruce, stoic as ever, merely nods, signaling his agreement. By the time it's Damian's turn to speak, he tilts his head slightly and asks, "Do you even have a plan to find them?"

I nod confidently. "But only the people helping will know it."

Damian shrugs, a small smirk playing on his lips. "I was bored anyway."

Damian's POV

Zara gathers everyone around the table and begins outlining her plan. "If this human trafficking operation is as big as we fear, they'll have specific times and locations for their shipments of girls. If we can track where the shipments arrive, we'll uncover where they're taken, who's funding this, and—most importantly—where Jill's sister is being held."

"How do we intercept the shipments?" I ask, leaning forward.

Zara smirks. "The only way to infiltrate is to be part of the girls being brought in. I'll be that person."

"Nope. No way. Nuh-uh," Kara interrupts immediately, shaking her head with determination. "There is no way I'm letting you do this alone. I'm coming with you."

"I can protect myself, Kara," Zara assures her, her tone steady and calm.

"I'm still coming," Kara replies without hesitation, crossing her arms in defiance.

"How will we find out when and where the shipments arrive?" Flash asks, glancing at Zara skeptically.

"Leave that to me," Bruce says, typing away on his computer. The sound of his rapid keystrokes fills the room as he works on gathering intel.

"Perfect," Zara replies with a nod. "Now all we need is more information from Jill."
