The Beast Tamer Is A Slime

World District 10 always had countless [Dungeon Breaks] once in a while, and it was common to see beasts rampaging around the street. 

But on this fateful night, the city closest to the wilderness that led to District 9, Cockroach City, had a carnival. 

A bunch of criminals with vicious faces, both men and women, old and young, ran frantically behind a surge of giant cockroaches. 

"There! The hole is there! God damn— the goddess of luck is with us!" 

"How long since the last time the barrier had a hole?"

"Maybe a few years ago! I don't know! Anyway, the bureau will soon notice the hole and close it. Run! Run while we can!" 

The cockroaches from the Giant Cockroach dungeon that broke free from the dungeons also ran out of the hole in the black barrier one after another, pouring into the wilderness. 

Instead of running towards the looming red "wall" behind, they moved towards the huge World District 9. 

They smelled humans! A lot of humans! 

Some of these cockroaches would turn around and attack the people following behind, but these people would immediately counterattack. 

The entire Cockroach City was awake, either trying to survive the rampant cockroach, or frantically reaching out to the hole in the barrier. 

Some of the stronger and smarter criminals riding on bikes and cars had even outpaced the beasts, becoming the first few humans to see the hole in the barrier. 

The black barrier, the second strongest barrier aside from the red "wall", actually had a hole that was enough for a truck to pass through. 

As more and more giant cockroaches the size of a cow came out of the barrier, the barrier was eroded even further. 

The criminals of varied ranks immediately roared in excitement at such a wonderful sight. 

They all rushed to the hole with green eyes. 

It's the outside world! 

They can finally leave this hell hole! 

Fck it! 

That night, thousands of cockroaches from several cockroach dungeons left the black barrier, followed by hundreds of criminals. 

The weakest criminal was at least a E-rank hunter, and the strongest was B-rank! 

World District 10's bureau, the prison warden, quickly found the hole in the barrier and the escaping criminals. 

They immediately mobilized all the prison guards at Cockroach City, even calling for more guards from other cities in the district. 

Soon, thousands of cold-faced guards with pure black body suits rushed out of the gap, chasing after the cockroaches and the criminals, riding on cars and motorbikes. 

Helicopters flew out of the black barrier one after another, carrying huge spotlights to search the entire wilderness. 

The higher-ups quickly notified World District 9's Awakened Hunter Bureau and Dungeon Management Bureau. 

"Please start to activate the district-level barrier. The criminals ran out with countless giant cockroaches."

Prepare for a war! 

The bureaus in the four capital cities immediately received the news and together, they started to activate the district-level barrier that wasn't there before. 

"The activation will need a full ten minutes. Mobilized all the patrol guards in those small towns, villages and counties to standby." 

"Don't let any beast or criminal enter those places!" 

"Send more helicopters, tanks and drones! Hurry! Hurry!" 

World District 9 even turned on the district-wide alarm, instantly dyeing the whole district red.

Loud siren noises sounded from all four capitals, followed by the small counties, towns and villages. 

"Warning! Warning! Enemy attack! Please stay inside the houses or go to nearby bunkers!" 

"Warning! Warning— "

Each of the four capital cities repeated the loud warning seven times in a row, and the smaller cities followed soon. 

The entire District 9 was woken up by such a loud siren and the glaring red light in the sky. 

Even John and Neo, who were a distance away from both District 9 and District 10, could see the flashing red light in the distance. 

But it wasn't the light from the [Red Line]. 

Neo suddenly had bad premonitions, and he quickly asked John. 

[What's going on? That direction...is it World District 9? Why did their sky suddenly turn red?] 

It wasn't the sky that turned red. 

It was the individual city barrier. 

John's face turned pale at such a sight, and he quickly rushed to get closer to World District 9's periphery. 

[Damn it! We are so unlucky! That red thing is the district-wide alarm! There will be an incoming attack aimed at World District 9!]

They had to go to the next village or town no matter what. 

Even if it's not as safe as the four capital cities, at least they would be inside the district-level barrier! 

[What will be the incoming attack? Beasts, or?] Neo continued to guide John while speculating about the incoming attack. 

[Well, more often, the attacks are from the beasts in various villages or towns running out and attacking the big cities.] 

But there was also one more possibility, which was the worst possibility ever. 

[It can also be that...some criminals and beasts from District 10…managed to run out of the barrier.] 

And they would definitely come to World District 9! 

Neo gasped at John's speculations. 

[How could those dangerous things run out so casually??]
