Chapter 172: Ghost

Noah crouched down and grabbed Tyrell by his hair, forcing him to look up. Tyrell winced, his eyes flickering with both pain and defiance.

But before he could speak, Noah activated his

Memory Glance

. The skill worked instantly, flashes of images and fragmented memories flooding Noah's mind.

In seconds, he had pieced together enough to know where to start. Tyrell's thoughts and memories painted the foundation—one that gave Noah the leverage he needed.

Releasing the grip on his hair slightly, Noah locked eyes with Tyrell, his calm voice carrying an undercurrent of menace. "I have a few questions for you. Answer them truthfully, or you'll regret it. Trust me."

Noah's lips curled into a faint smirk as he gestured toward Yanks, who was still slumped nearby. "I mean, look at your friend over here. His jaw's almost touching the ground."

Tyrell's gaze darted to Yanks, confusion flickering in his eyes. But when Yanks looked down, the realization hit him. His jaw, dislocated and grotesquely misaligned, was hanging at an unnatural angle.

The sight made his face pale, and after a moment, the pain registered. Yanks let out a bloodcurdling scream before promptly passing out again.

Noah chuckled, the sound devoid of warmth. "See?" he said, his smirk widening.

Tyrell, staring at Noah, felt his stomach churn.

'This guy… he's a psycho for sure,'

he thought, sweat trickling down his temple. He knew he was in a bad position.

Before Tyrell could think further, Noah's voice sliced through his thoughts.

"First question." His tone was calm but left no room for debate. "How did you know Leo was doing a gold transaction?"

Tyrell hesitated, his eyes flicking around the room as he tried to buy time. "We were just going around," he said finally, his voice shaky. "It was luck. We saw him by chance."

The room fell silent, and Noah's smirk faded, replaced by a cold, unreadable expression. Without warning, he delivered a powerful slap across Tyrell's face. The impact was so strong that a tooth flew out, hitting the floor with a soft clink.

Tyrell groaned, the pain searing through his jaw as he spat out blood.

Noah leaned in closer, his voice chillingly quiet. "Every time you lie, the punishment will increase. So think carefully before you respond."

Tyrell panted heavily, his mind racing.

He had dealt with ruthless people before, but this was on another level entirely.

This wasn't a man threatening him for leverage—this was someone who enjoyed control and thrived on seeing others crumble under his will.

"Alright, alright!" Tyrell finally stammered, his voice hoarse. "We didn't just stumble on him. Someone tipped us off!"

Noah tilted his head slightly, his interest piqued. "Who?"

Tyrell hesitated again, the cold glint in Noah's eyes pushing him to speak. "I don't know his name. He called himself 'Ghost.' Said he had a job for us. Told us where to find Leo and said the guy was carrying something valuable."

Noah's eyes narrowed slightly, leaning back as he processed the information.

'Ghost.'

The name didn't ring a bell, but it was a lead.

"Is that all Ghost told you?" Noah pressed, his tone low.

Tyrell's lips trembled. "No. He didn't just tell us to find Leo," he stammered. "It started before that."

"Before?" Noah's voice dropped further, a dangerous curiosity visible in his expression.

"A few days before the hit," Tyrell began, "we found this parcel left in front of our door after someone knocked."

"No note, no nothing, just a box sitting there."

"What was in the box?" Noah asked, his voice devoid of emotion.

Tyrell hesitated for a second too long, and Noah's hand twitched toward his weapon.

Tyrell flinched and quickly answered, "It had a gun. And $10,000 in cash."

Noah's smirk reappeared, faint and chilling. "This ghost seems to be generous, huh?"

"There was also a number," Tyrell added quickly. "A burner phone number. When we called it, this guy answered. He called himself Ghost."

"And?" Noah prompted.

"He said he had a job for us," Tyrell continued, his voice shaky. " He told us where to find the guy—Leo. Said the dude would be carrying something he wanted, a gold bar. Told us we'd get another ten grand if we brought it back to the same spot."

Noah's smirk widened as he processed the new information.

'This ghost isn't simple. He was pulling the strings, financing the operation and keeping himself completely detached without any tangible trace to his identity.'

"Anything else?" Noah's voice was as sharp as a blade.

"No," Tyrell said, his head shaking fervently. "That's all. He said he doesn't meet anyone in person. Just gives instructions over the phone."

Noah studied Tyrell for a long moment, the room heavy with silence. Then, without warning, Noah grabbed Tyrell's hair again, pulling him closer before he delivered a knee to his face.

Blood and teeth flew out of Tyrell's face, Noah released him roughly, letting Tyrell collapse back onto the floor.

Standing tall, Noah's mind worked through the details.

'A handler who stays behind the curtain. A setup that efficient means Ghost isn't new to this game.'

Natasha watched the bloody scene her body trembling her eyes diverting every time Noah moved an inch, worried that he would be upset and do the same thing to her.

'I'm done, I'm done! He is going to kill me, a madman like this guy won't leave a witness alive. What should I do, what should I do?'

Her body was shaking from the turmoil she was feeling, she felt like she was staring at death in the eye every time he looked back at her.

Seeing Noah turn around and put his hand in his pocket, she quickly closed her eyes.

"I'm sorry! Please don't kill me, I won't do this ever again!" She said, as her body started tensing up.

"Eh?"

"Who said I'm gonna kill you? I told you, you will be safe as long as you do as you are told." He said casually, as he took his phone out of his pocket.

"But do remember, if a single word comes out of your mouth your end will be many times more miserable. Do you understand?" He said, his voice cold.

Natasha quickly nodded.

"YES!"

"Not only will I not ever say a word, I will leave the whole city." She quickly said, finally sensing hope was not lost for her.

"Alright, stay here for now. I will tell you when you can go later."
