Chapter 111: Chapter 110 - Snape is John Wick.

[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

"You're going home?" Snape heard the girl in front of him ask as the train began to move, the sound of the steam engine echoing even from there, while it blew its whistle.

"That's not my home," Snape replied.

"What? I know what happened with your father… but he's still your father, isn't he?" she asked, her voice slightly concerned. Snape continued staring at her, wondering if she was in her right mind. Why would she be so worried about this when it came to him?

"If you know very well what happened… you should know that place is no longer my home," he said, shaking his head. He didn't even have the courage to return to his book, knowing that this girl would speak again.

"Even so… where are you going to live, then?" she murmured.

"I'm not lacking in money. Believe me," Snape replied simply.

"Alright… I'm just worried…" she said, looking at him.

"What's with you?" Snape asked, his tone slightly raised.

"What do you mean?" Lily murmured. The train had barely started moving, and Snape already seemed eager to expel her from the compartment.

"You don't usually act like this… Are you really okay? You know, it's very strange the way you've been behaving in recent months… You know you shouldn't even be near me. But you insist on staying with me all the time, even after I told you that I'm not the same Snape you once knew. You saw what I'm capable of…" Snape said, his tone questioning.

"I…" Lily, caught off guard by Snape's harsh words, didn't know what to respond, while Snape continued to look at her strangely. "I don't know…" She didn't fully understand it either, only that she always wanted to be close to Snape, feeling uneasy whenever he talked to other girls.

"…" Snape looked at her a little longer before sighing. "Please, if you're going to keep talking about trivial things, don't interrupt my reading; it's rude," Snape said simply. He may have treated her better than he ever had before, but he wouldn't allow any girl to interrupt his reading all the time.

"Do you hate me…?" she asked, seeing Snape return to his book.

"No, I just hoped to read this book on my journey to London since I won't have much time during the holidays…" Snape replied, returning to his reading with a calmer tone, hoping she would respect that.

"I guess you're right… What was I thinking… sorry…" she said at last, grabbing her bag and taking the opportunity to read as well, considering she was doing three specializations over the next two years before graduation.

And so the train continued, Snape reading everything he could about Salazar, finding some rather interesting potions in there, thinking how profitable it would be to put them up for sale.

Everything was going well until Lily spoke up again, and Snape was grateful it was when they were already close to London, the train cutting through the darkness of the tracks at night.

"That book… what is it? Is it from the restricted section that you have access to?" she couldn't help but ask, her curiosity taking over.

"No… it's by Salazar," Snape replied without taking his eyes off the lines, somewhere in the middle of the book, which was much deeper than most he had read—this one deserved special attention.

"Salazar?! Are you serious? Isn't that… bad? I always heard he was evil, a dark lord of his time!" she exclaimed, startled by this.

"I don't believe he was that bad… not really," Snape said.

"Do you think…?" she murmured, and Snape didn't respond.

"Anyway… we're almost there," Snape said, putting the book away as they began to reach a part of London, their train station.

"I think you're right…" she said, also doing the same and putting away her book.

As they began to leave along with the other students, several parents were waiting for their children while Snape pondered where to go next, but his eyebrow raised at the sight of the girl who had accompanied him, standing there, looking a bit flustered and sad.

"Where are your parents?" Snape asked.

"They didn't come… I mean… I didn't tell them I'd be back at this time, or I didn't have the time," she said, while Snape frowned.

"Are you saying you left as soon as you saw me leaving too? Were you waiting for me?!" he asked with a strangely calm tone for the question.

"I thought you'd go back home, you know, we're neighbors… You could have walked me home," she murmured softly, clearly with an embarrassed tone.

"You're not well, Lily… you should be more responsible than this…" Snape couldn't help but say with a sigh. "It's 10 o'clock at night; I suppose I can walk you home, then." He couldn't leave her there alone, even if he felt frustrated; it still seemed like his responsibility.

"Really?" She seemed oddly happy.

"Let's go," Snape just said, accompanying her home. He guided her, and they slipped away to a bus stop without anyone at the station seeing them leave together. As they sat, Lily seemed more talkative and cheerful, while Snape mostly nodded at her comments, as he wasn't one to talk much most of the time.

The English bus arrived, nearly empty except for someone who seemed to be sleeping, and Snape made sure to sit at the back of the bus.

"So, is it true that you trained Pandora from Ravenclaw? Everyone was talking about it last week…" Lily asked as she sat at the back of the bus.

"Yes…" Snape responded curtly, his eyes fixed on a man sleeping under some kind of blanket, seemingly covering himself entirely.

Lily kept talking, while Snape didn't take his eyes off that man—something seemed very wrong there.

Snape saw a flash of light beneath the clothing, his hands instinctively preparing for a confrontation. Lily kept talking as the streetlights and house lights blurred past the window like fleeting shadows.

"Are you okay, Snape?" she asked, noticing his strange behavior.

"I'm fine, just do as I say," Snape said abruptly, leaving the girl a bit confused by his words.

The bus began to slow down as more people entered. "Hello, gentlemen, good evening…" the driver greeted, just as he had greeted Lily and Snape. Suddenly, three people dressed entirely in black ignored the driver and got on, giving him an uneasy feeling. They didn't even pay for their fare as they made their way down the aisle.

"Who are they?" Lily murmured, a bit surprised by them; they didn't seem like ordinary people.

"They're dark wizards… and they're here to kill me… you need to duck when I tell you to, understood?" Snape said.

"What?!" Lily murmured, eyes wide with shock.

"…" Snape said nothing more, keeping his eyes fixed on the men. They appeared to be around 23 years old, not as experienced as Snape had expected from his would-be assassins.

The man in front noticed this and smiled, revealing his wand, as the other two also showed their wands, staring directly at Snape. 'The man under the blanket doesn't want to reveal himself to catch me by surprise,' Snape mocked internally.

"Severus Snape!!!" the man called out with a grin, finally making progress in his task for his master, hoping to earn a position and some money by killing a mere Hogwarts student.

Snape stared at him calmly as he continued. "The Norton family sends their regards."

Snape couldn't help but scoff. The Norton family had three members at Hogwarts: a boy in his first year, a girl in her third, and a boy in his sixth. All from Slytherin.

The sixth-year boy had crossed paths with Snape at least three times. He was spoiled and enjoyed insulting Snape out of pride, boasting about being wealthy and from a good family. As one might expect, things didn't go well when Snape lost his temper at the boy's attempts at aggression. The boy ended up in the infirmary twice with broken bones, leading him to stop bothering Snape, at least for the latter half of the year. But even so, his family still wanted to deal with Snape.

"So be it," Snape said, turning to Lily. "I want you to stay down," Snape instructed as the bus still hadn't started moving again, with the driver watching the scene with wide, startled eyes.

"Now die," the man declared before raising his wand along with the others, laughing maniacally as green flashes erupted from their wands, shattering the back of the bus.

"Is he dead?" the man at the front asked, surveying the damage.

"Get down now," a voice came from behind them. Snape was with Lily at the front of the bus, and he quickly cast a spell on the driver, knocking him out.

Lily crouched, a bit frightened, while Snape kept his eyes ahead, gripping his dagger. He had only a short window before the Ministry would send Aurors here after sensing wand magic, so he disappeared swiftly as the three turned toward him.

The one furthest back was the first to die, his throat slit, while Snape simultaneously aimed his wand and cast Bombarda at the leg of the second attacker, shattering it with an explosion before he could react. The man opened his mouth to scream, but with another quick teleportation, Snape was behind the one who had been laughing moments earlier, thinking he could kill Snape. He beheaded him effortlessly.

The man who had been pretending to sleep decided to act, rising with his wand aimed at Snape. He cast another Avada Kedavra, which Snape dodged, already anticipating this hidden man's move after revealing his position. With a swift strike, Snape severed the man's wand arm.

"AHHHH!!!!"

"AHHHH!!!!"

Both men, one with a missing arm and the other with a nearly obliterated leg, screamed in agony. Snape transformed his wand into a dagger and swiftly killed the armless man. He then hurled his other blade at the kneeling man, hitting him in the head and killing them both instantly. Using his wand, he retrieved the blade back through levitation.

"Don't look at this, alright?" Snape said into the now-quiet air, listening to the distant barking of dogs in the street, likely stirred by the commotion. He hoped Lily hadn't witnessed the entire scene as he cast a fire spell in the center of the bus, setting the bodies ablaze with his wand. He wanted to avoid leaving anything behind that might lead to his identification.

"What was that… are you okay, Snape?" Lily's heart was pounding, fear evident on her face as she had just been attacked alongside Snape on a bus.

"I'm fine… but we must leave now," Snape said as he approached her, motioning for her to get up while the bus caught fire. His gaze shifted to the fallen driver, and he used his wand to levitate the unconscious man and carry him off the bus as well.

"Snape… who were they?!" she exclaimed, watching the flames spreading through the bus, engulfing it. They stood on a street where all the houses were dark, probably due to some spell the attackers had cast for a silent takedown before the Ministry arrived.

"They're my enemies… you shouldn't have gotten involved," he said at last, using a spell to wake the driver and starting to erase his memories to leave no trace behind.

"What do we do now? Shouldn't we report this to the Ministry?" Lily asked, still feeling the rush of adrenaline.

"No… we need to head home another way, we can't stay here much longer," Snape said, and he began teleporting with her a short distance down the street, moving to another area each time. Lily just watched the scenery change; this teleportation wouldn't be traceable, so he continued using it until they reached the street where Lily and Snape's father lived.

"Snape… you're in danger… shouldn't you call the Ministry?" she couldn't help but ask, having had plenty of time to think about it while they moved, hopping through the city by teleporting out of sight every few meters.

"You know I just killed four people; I'd be the one arrested… I swear I would even wipe your memory, but I trust you to stay silent," Snape said sincerely. However, the system had protected her, so he wanted to make it clearer just how dangerous he was for her, needing to keep his distance.

"I know… I'm sorry," she murmured finally.

"You know, Lily… you shouldn't accept this so easily… I think you need to get checked out… you're acting too different," he couldn't help but say.

"Like you," she retorted, and Snape had to agree.

"Fine… I'll head to my father's house… since it's unlikely I'll find a hotel around here. So take care," Snape said, and Lily nodded, watching him leave. But his words still echoed in her mind.

"Am I really okay…? I don't think I would have done all this a year ago… I'm still worried about him…" she murmured. She was in a crisis over Snape, but it had all felt so easy after seeing him kill people right in front of her. She couldn't help but wonder what was happening to her.
